I'm starting my junior year at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I'm currently getting my degree in biology with a concentration in health and human disease, global health, and a minor in French. I love reading, traveling, learning and helping others learn! I have experience tutoring high school and elementary school students in math, science, and English and I love tutoring in each subject equally. Eventually, I see myself going to medical school and researching topics related to viral diseases which I've been interested in since a very young age. I'm very passionate about the subjects I teach and hope to pass my passion on to the individuals I tutor!

I'm a freshman at Rice University, and planning to major in Mathematical Economic Analysis and Computer Science. I'm also a student athlete and a starting member of The Rice University Men's Golf Team so I understand time is crucial and will do my best to help you understand and not just memorize concepts so you don't have to spend time every week trying to understand the same thing. A lot of math concepts repeat themselves in high school and college. My core is in math and that is where I will be most efficient in helping a student. Aside from that, please let me know if you have any questions or need anything.
I am graduate of Brown University, where I received a degree in Economics and studied topics ranging from Computer Science and Applied Math to Literary Arts and Philosophy. I even helped create a class during my senior year, working together with other students to write a syllabus, gather reading materials, schedule guest speakers, and ultimately, present the results to an academic dean for course credit. After graduation, I moved to Hong Kong, where I worked at a a summer program at the University of Hong Kong, in partnership with the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, as a Teaching Assistant in a Game Theory class for advanced middle school students. After the program ended, I traveled around Asia, visiting places in Malaysia and Vietnam before eventually returning to the American South, where, as a native North Carolinian, I feel at home. I usually prefer tutoring in subjects involving math and social sciences but I am very flexible. Outside of education, I love playing guitar and piano, and I have released music both as a solo artist and as part of a band. I also like to play disc golf and lacrosse and enjoy participating in fantasy football.
I am able to tutor on a variety of subjects, but I'm especially passionate about test prep! I'm currently traveling around Europe and South America, before I start law school at the University of Texas this fall.
I am a sophomore, English and Computer Science double major at Carleton College who is ecstatic about teaching and spreading my love of learning. I am also greatly interested in sociology and gender studies, and have yet to decide if I will minor in one of those fields, too. I love helping students discover a passion for reading and expressing themselves through writing. My favorite areas to tutor are those having to do with English; I enjoy everything from AP Literature to essay writing for class. When I'm not at school or tutoring, I spend my time reading, playing piano and guitar, and rock climbing.
I am a dynamic, recent Harvard PhD graduate seeking to enrich the lives of others through increasing knowledge, growth, and confidence. I currently reside in Austin, TX, but I am originally from New York City. I attended a private New England boarding school called the Hotchkiss school for high school. I received my BA in International Studies from Brown University. I have been tutoring since I was a sophomore at Brown University. I tutored elementary school students in math and Spanish. Later on, I tutored high school students in Pre-Calculus, Spanish, English, and essay writing. More recently, I have been tutoring young entrepreneurs in Portuguese. Currently, I tutor all levels of Spanish, English grammar and writing, and Reading. I love to travel and meet new people and share wonderful new experiences. I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and was fortunate enough to have been able to live in both countries. My teaching style is to ensure that students gain confidence in their own ability to learn. Each student is unique and should be evaluated and assisted on that basis. When I am not tutoring I love to cook, visit local parks and lakes, attend outdoor music concerts, and read. I look forward to working with new students and helping to enrich their educational experience.
I'm a huge Red Sox fan and love watching detective shows when I have free time.
I am excited to work with all students, particularly those with special needs (including G/T). Please contact me with any questions you may have, and I look forward to working with you and/or your child!
Math has been my passion ever since high school - from earning 1st place nationally in Calculus and Linear Algebra, to competing on the AMC 10, AMC 12, and AIME exams. At Princeton, I tutored peers in Multivariable Calculus, and since then I've worked with middle school through college students in Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, and SAT/GRE quantitative prep. I'm dedicated to simplifying complex ideas and helping students build confidence in their own problem-solving skills! I also built my first artificial intelligence tool in 2018, and currently enjoy helping integrate LLMs and Agents for companies!
I am committed to meeting students at their unique starting points and collaboratively exploring innovative solutions that cater to their individual learning styles.
I am a career for-profit and not-for-profit CFO who enjoys helping others learn and grow in their chosen field of study and future professions. I have also taught and tutored GMAT and LSAT courses for a leading test preparation company. I have a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School. I have used both Finance and Accounting extensively in my career and enjoy using my deep knowledge of these subjects to help lead organizations. I am also a lifelong learner and am currently completing the few remaining requirements I have for CPA certification. If you think I can help, I would love to set up an introductory call. Best of luck with your studies and all of your future endeavors!
I am third year medical resident in Family Medicine and was born and raised in a family of teachers and educators. I really enjoy learning and teaching and the process of deconstructing things down to their most digestible parts. I am a big advocate of making things fun and trying to bring the material to life. I have experience tutoring all ages, and in a wide range of disciplines. I look forward to helping you or you child meet your goals in whatever way I can!

Frequently Asked Questions
Austin's 24 school districts serve over 159,000 students with varying curricula and academic standards. Varsity Tutors connects students with tutors who understand the specific requirements of Austin-area schools—whether students attend AISD, Eanes, Pflugerville, or other local districts. This localized expertise helps ensure tutoring aligns with each student's actual coursework and district expectations.
With an average student-teacher ratio of 14.9:1 across Austin schools, many students don't get the individualized attention they need to master challenging concepts. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction fills that gap, allowing tutors to focus entirely on a student's learning style, pace, and specific knowledge gaps—something that's difficult in larger classroom settings.
Austin students typically seek help with math (algebra through calculus), science (biology, chemistry, physics), and standardized test prep (SAT, ACT, AP exams). English/language arts support is also common, particularly for writing and reading comprehension. Varsity Tutors connects students with tutors across all these areas, plus specialized support for subjects like foreign languages, STEM courses, and test-specific strategies.
The first session focuses on understanding your student's specific needs, current performance level, and learning goals. Whether they're struggling with a particular Texas standard, preparing for AP exams, or working to improve grades, the tutor will assess where they are and create a personalized plan. This foundation ensures every subsequent session builds toward measurable progress.
Austin students take a range of standardized tests—from state assessments to the SAT (national average around 1050) and ACT (national average around 21). Tutors work with students on test-specific strategies, content review, practice testing, and time management. Personalized prep focuses on each student's actual weak areas rather than generic test prep, leading to more significant score improvements.
Yes—summer is an ideal time for focused tutoring without the pressure of ongoing schoolwork. Many Austin students use summer sessions to get ahead in challenging subjects, prepare for fall courses, or catch up on skills that need reinforcement. Consistent tutoring over the summer helps prevent learning loss and sets students up for success when school resumes.
College-bound students in Austin benefit from tutoring that strengthens their GPA, improves standardized test scores, and deepens understanding in rigorous courses. Tutors help students tackle AP and honors classes, develop strong study habits, and build confidence in challenging subjects—all of which matter for college admissions and placement. This support is especially valuable during junior and senior years when academic performance directly impacts college opportunities.
Simply tell us about your student's needs—their grade level, subject, current challenges, and goals. Varsity Tutors will match them with a tutor who fits their learning style and academic needs. You'll schedule your first session at a time that works for your family, and from there, you'll work together to track progress and adjust the plan as needed.
