I have been currently working as a professional tutor for a little over a year but I have been tutoring for a lot longer than that. I remember tutoring my kid sister for the past couple of years in subjects such as Algebra, History, Chemistry, etc. Finally, in her senior year of high school, I still cherish the moments when she asks for my help. Over the past couple of months I have been tutoring at a place in Allen and I love every moment of it. During the course of that time I have been able to establish a great relationship with all my kids. I love seeing their smiles when they tell me they were able to ace a test in school due to my help. Tutoring and mentoring kids is honestly the best job I have ever had.I am currently a junior at the University of Texas at Dallas where I am working on a BS Health Care Administration and Biology. I hope to eventually have a job coordinating departments within a health care clinic or even a hospital. I specialize mostly in on-level or pre-AP Biology and Chemistry as well as Algebra but feel confident teaching subjects such as History and AP Biology.I hold myself to a high standard and I will hold my students to the same standards I hold myself. I strongly believe there is no "correct" way to learn and that each individual has unique ways that they absorb new material and knowledge. Throughout my academic career, I have adjusted my learning style countless times to fit the material and hope to introduce new ways of thinking to each student to find what works for them. I value transparency in letting me know if concepts are sticking or not, work to create a judgment free zone for asking questions, and want to tailor my approaches to each student's needs. My go-to way of tutoring is to emphasize the "why and how" to minimize pure memorization of flashcards. I have a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University, four years of corporate finance experience, have taught CPR and First-Aid for nearly 9 years, and received my EMT certification in April of 2022. Outside of academia, I enjoy staying active and lifting weights, playing various board games and card games, and spending quality time with my friends and family.

I am a Project Consultant and a retired Sustainment Systems Engineer with both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degree in Operations Research-Statistics, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Statistics and 20+ years of experience with General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin.I am a firm proponent of continuous education, believing it to be necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my colleagues. I volunteer extensively and have tutored adult students in both qualitative and quantitative fundraising techniques. I have and will continue to leverage my: (1) Consulting, Lean Six Sigma and Black Belt (Analytical Continuous Improvement) training and experience and (2) extensive project management experience designing, improving, and implementing integrated systems of people, materials, and equipment to help my students develop an appreciation for mathematics and its application in everyday life. I will use my well-developed analysis and skills performing data modeling, simulation, and analysis to teach and enhance my students' organization and critical thinking skills. I am currently a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry at The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout high school, I challenged myself by taking all the Biology and Chemistry courses available. Similarly, in college, I have continued to study and acquire knowledge about subjects such as Biology and Chemistry.I have learned the art of teaching through various unique experiences such as on job training, explaining concepts to peers in a classroom setting, and teaching others dance routines. As a student myself, I know how beneficial it can be when other students and peers explain challenging topics or add on to what teachers and professors teach as it provides a new perspective on the information. This is something I hope to bring forth to other students. I also hope to create an environment in which students feel safe to ask any potential questions they may have!
