I graduated with a BA in Economics and a minor in French from Columbia.I have experience with a wide range of students, varying in age from grade school to adults. Most recently I tutored college test prep (ACT/SAT/SAT II/AP) and college level statistics. In the past I've been a math homework helper for elementary school students, a swim instructor, and led a bilingual workshop in Panama on environmental conservation, which culminated in the awarding of certificate degrees to 12 adult students. My favorite subjects to tutor are SAT and ACT math. While these are the subjects most students dread, I find that this is where a good tutor can induce the most "Ah ha!" moments because there are so many patterns that can help you ace that test if you know where to look. Helping students conquer these subjects (and become "math people") by identifying and breaking down the methodology is very rewarding. My philosophy for tutoring has always been:Some people teach to the test. Others teach to the book. I teach to the individual.Outside of tutoring my hobbies include yoga, biking, hiking, drawing, crafts, dancing (ballet and salsa are my favorite right now), French cinema, reading (magazines, novels, history), and occasionally skiing.

I recently graduated from Oklahoma City University with a major in economics and a minor in mathematics.I have had over 6 years of experience as a private tutor, I work with several online tutoring services, and while I was in college I worked with my school's tutoring center. While I am qualified to tutor many subjects, my favorite subject by far is math, specifically calculus. Math is a subject almost universally hated, and I believe that is mainly due to the narrow way in which it is taught. I have ADHD, and I often don't understand things the first time they are explained to me, meaning over the years I have had to figure out different ways of looking at information. Oftentimes, all a student needs is for something to be explained in a different way, and I love watching people finally understand a concept. Everyone learns differently, but everyone can learn.

I am a recent graduate of the University of California - Irvine. I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Information Management (BIM). I have been involved in many mentoring positions since high school. Most recently, I was an Orientation Staffer at UC Irvine where I led a group of college students to help run the Freshmen Orientation. I have learned through my experiences that I am the happiest when I am helping others, learn, achieve and succeed. I am very patient and I understand what it is like to struggle with a problem or test so I can relate to students. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, playing video games and hiking.

I'm a freshman here at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I graduated from Wayzata High, and I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in neuroscience. At the University, I'm usually in class, studying, hanging out with my friends, or at club meetings! In my free time, I love to breakdance, write poetry, debate politics and economics, and participate in practically every nerdy endeavor possible (huge Star Wars fan!!). I love to talk and will talk your ear off if you let me! I love trying new things, exploring the city, and traveling. My teaching philosophy is that teaching is a responsibility and a privilege; I'll put 110% into teaching if you put the same effort into learning. With hard work and patience, anything is possible!

I am a private tutor in South Florida focused mainly in junior high and high school math.I have engaged in teaching math and guitar to various friends and colleagues and have been consistently complimented on my teaching style. My teaching style involves taking time and explaining concepts in a very detailed manner that makes the subject as simple as possible, while periodically asking the student to take the next step in a problem to make sure they understand. I understand that subjects like math can seem scary or boring and therefore reassure the student that math can actually be very simple.Beyond simply teaching concepts and processes, I enjoy teaching students how to succeed in their classes. Regarding math, I believe a proper amount of practice along with memorization and application of formulas is a guaranteed winner! In my spare time I enjoy playing guitar, playing soccer, and of course teaching in any way that I can. I have always enjoyed seeing others excel beyond expectations. I believe that any student can master any subject with a good strategy.I am available to tutor online (preferred) and in person, on any day of the week. Let's get started!
