I am a recent cum laude graduate of the University of Amsterdam's Masters in Economics Program where I specialized in Monetary Policy and Banking. While there, I worked as a teaching assistant and tutored in economics and mathematics. Prior to that, I worked as an ESL teacher for two years in Russia and China.

I am available to help students with any topics they are struggling with in their high school or early college-level Physics courses.
I'm a graduate of the School of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University (2015). I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering, and am pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the VCU School of Business. I've been a mentor for the past four years and am very active in my method of tutoring. I have helped several students with official tests and homework assignments.
I am a graduate of Brigham Young University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with an emphasis in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. As part of my coursework, I studied Arabic for three years and spent a semester in Amman, Jordan. After graduating, I worked on a U.S. Senate campaign, then interned at a think tank and congressional office in Washington, DC. While at the think tank, I co-authored an article that was published in US News and World Report. I am currently pursuing my juris doctorate (JD) at the University of Georgia School of Law.
I am very excited to have the chance to work with students preparing for the PSAT, the SAT, or the LSAT! While I'm originally from Connecticut, I attended college and law school in Buffalo, New York. While there, I worked for a test prep agency helping students prepare for the SAT and the LSAT. In 2003, I moved to Richmond. I worked with the Virginia Department of Taxation for 7 years doing policy work and assisting with the legislative process. In 2011, I began working for Bryant and Stratton College, where I taught students in the Paralegal Studies program. I loved helping my students prepare for new careers. I can't wait to work with you and help you succeed as well!
I am a graduate of Yale University, where I majored in Global Affairs. After graduation, I spent one year at a liberal arts college in Singapore, where I worked in the writing center and mentored students extensively in academic writing. Since then, I have been traveling, while continuing to tutor writing skills online. I emphasize learning how to write a clear, organized, and persuasive argument supported by solid evidence. In addition, I have experience tutoring students one-on-one with academic subjects and test prep. I enjoy helping my students discover the patterns behind the problems in standardized tests, especially in the SAT and LSAT. I believe in a personalized approach, and I love seeing students gain mastery and understanding of these skills. Next Fall I will be attending law school.
I am currently a second year law student at Harvard Law School. I am passionate about public interest law, particularly immigration and criminal defense.
I am often asked by friends to help them with their math homework. I have spent countless hours teaching calculus to engineering, computer science, physics, and economics majors. Being one of seven children, I have been helping my sibling with math for as long as I can remember. I believe that a solid understanding of mathematics is crucial to success, and the demand for people with quantitative skills is only growing.
I am currently working on my Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I attained my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. VCU is where I have held bioinorganic research positions as well as teaching positions. I acted as a teaching assistant in various chemistry and biology classes while studying and am currently an adjunct faculty teaching chemistry courses for the university. In addition to Varsity Tutors, I tutor for PCG education where I prepare students at J L Francis Elemetnary School for their mathematics SOLs. Throughout my different experiences with teaching and tutoring, I have found that each individual requires a different teaching style. Adjusting styles to accommodate different learning styles can be difficult at start, but overtime it helps the success of students to achieve their goals.
I am most interested in improving the critical thinking and critical writing skills of students who will comprise the next generation of college graduates and working professionals. The ability to express oneself clearly through writing is an invaluable skill both within academia and the professional workforce. I believe it is my job to provide students with the necessary preparation and skills they will need to succeed in a college environment and beyond. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy reading fiction (with a special soft spot for sci-fi/fantasy), running and training for my next marathon, and experimenting with new recipes in my kitchen.
I am an avid enthusiast for following your passions, no matter what they are. I enjoy teaching and spending time with others. I have a great vast amount of experience tutoring other peers, students, children, etc. I hope that I can help others reach their goals in learning!
I'm a current medical student at VCU School of Medicine, and a graduate of Johns Hopkins University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I've had the pleasure of tutoring a diverse range of students for 5 years; while I tutor a broad set of subjects, I'm most passionate about biology, psychology, and chemistry. I'm a big proponent of ensuring understanding over memorization and teaching concepts that last for years to come (particularly for other students interested in medicine!) In my free time, I love to write poetry, edit essays, and gush about game writing with friends.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students throughout Hampton and across all four school districts in the area. With 45 schools and nearly 20,000 students in the Hampton community, we work with learners at every grade level and academic background, whether they attend public, charter, or private schools.
Personalized 1-on-1 instruction is highly effective for SOL preparation because tutors can focus on the specific standards your student finds challenging, rather than moving at a class pace. Varsity Tutors connects you with expert tutors who understand Virginia's SOL framework and can target weak areas in math, science, reading, and history—helping students build confidence before SOL assessments.
While Hampton schools maintain a solid 13.9:1 student-teacher ratio, individual attention in a classroom setting is still limited—teachers must manage curriculum pacing for 14+ students with different learning speeds and needs. One-on-one tutoring fills that gap by allowing tutors to adapt instruction to your student's exact learning style, pace, and goals, which research shows significantly accelerates progress.
Your first session is an assessment and relationship-building meeting. The tutor will discuss your student's academic goals, identify specific challenges, and understand their learning style. This helps create a personalized plan tailored to your student's needs—whether that's SOL prep, grade improvement, test readiness, or building foundational skills in a particular subject.
Hampton students frequently seek tutoring in math and reading, especially around SOL testing windows, as well as science and history. We also work with students preparing for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams, and those needing support in foundational skills or catching up after absences. Varsity Tutors can connect you with expert tutors across all core subjects and test prep areas.
Pricing varies based on the tutor's expertise, subject, and your student's needs—there's no one-size-fits-all cost. We work with families to find solutions that fit their budget, whether that's weekly sessions, intensive prep for a specific test, or targeted help with particular topics. Contact Varsity Tutors for a personalized quote based on your situation.
Varsity Tutors connects you with expert tutors who have deep knowledge of their subjects and proven teaching experience. Many hold degrees in their subject areas, have classroom teaching backgrounds, or bring specialized expertise in test prep and academic support. Each tutor is vetted to ensure they can deliver effective, personalized instruction.
Simply reach out to Varsity Tutors with information about your student's grade, subject needs, and goals. We'll match them with a qualified tutor who fits their learning style and academic needs. From there, you'll schedule your first session and begin personalized instruction designed to help your student succeed.
