My name is Zach, and I am a rising second-year student at Brown University, studying the Archaeology and the History of Art and Architecture. In my time at Brown University, I have gained extensive experience in academic writing as a passionate student of the humanities and researcher of arts and culture. I understand the academic and ethical qualities that make a successful, passionate, and well-rounded humanities student, and I am excited to share my knowledge and experiences with you all. I am a proud world language enthusiast and a budding educator. I speak English and Spanish fluently, Italian conversationally, and French and Portuguese at the elementary level. I have had the opportunity to engage with Brown University's robust Hispanic and Italian studies programs and in seminars on language and culture. Additionally, I am a budding educator, working with the Virginia Department of Education as a language mentor at the summer 2026 Virginia Governor's World Language Immersion program. I understand the cultural perspective and linguistic development that it takes to reach fluency in a foreign language and am dedicated to sharing that knowledge with you all.

As a passionate storyteller, native of Colombia with a Bachelor's in Mass Communications and a Master's in Social Media Community Management. My teaching philosophy centers on creating engaging and supportive learning environments where students feel empowered to express themselves and explore the language creatively. I believe that fostering a genuine connection with my students is key to their success, and I strive to tailor my approach to meet their individual needs and interests. I am dedicated to helping students not only grasp the intricacies of the Spanish language but also develop a love for its culture. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy filmmaking, TV production trends, and connecting with diverse communities, which enrich my teaching practice.
I am available to help students with any topics they are struggling with in their high school or early college-level Physics courses.
I am a recent cum laude graduate of the University of Amsterdam's Masters in Economics Program where I specialized in Monetary Policy and Banking. While there, I worked as a teaching assistant and tutored in economics and mathematics. Prior to that, I worked as an ESL teacher for two years in Russia and China.
I'm a graduate of the School of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University (2015). I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering, and am pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the VCU School of Business. I've been a mentor for the past four years and am very active in my method of tutoring. I have helped several students with official tests and homework assignments.
I am very excited to have the chance to work with students preparing for the PSAT, the SAT, or the LSAT! While I'm originally from Connecticut, I attended college and law school in Buffalo, New York. While there, I worked for a test prep agency helping students prepare for the SAT and the LSAT. In 2003, I moved to Richmond. I worked with the Virginia Department of Taxation for 7 years doing policy work and assisting with the legislative process. In 2011, I began working for Bryant and Stratton College, where I taught students in the Paralegal Studies program. I loved helping my students prepare for new careers. I can't wait to work with you and help you succeed as well!
I am a graduate of Brigham Young University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with an emphasis in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. As part of my coursework, I studied Arabic for three years and spent a semester in Amman, Jordan. After graduating, I worked on a U.S. Senate campaign, then interned at a think tank and congressional office in Washington, DC. While at the think tank, I co-authored an article that was published in US News and World Report. I am currently pursuing my juris doctorate (JD) at the University of Georgia School of Law.
I am currently a second year law student at Harvard Law School. I am passionate about public interest law, particularly immigration and criminal defense.
I am a graduate of Yale University, where I majored in Global Affairs. After graduation, I spent one year at a liberal arts college in Singapore, where I worked in the writing center and mentored students extensively in academic writing. Since then, I have been traveling, while continuing to tutor writing skills online. I emphasize learning how to write a clear, organized, and persuasive argument supported by solid evidence. In addition, I have experience tutoring students one-on-one with academic subjects and test prep. I enjoy helping my students discover the patterns behind the problems in standardized tests, especially in the SAT and LSAT. I believe in a personalized approach, and I love seeing students gain mastery and understanding of these skills. Next Fall I will be attending law school.
I am often asked by friends to help them with their math homework. I have spent countless hours teaching calculus to engineering, computer science, physics, and economics majors. Being one of seven children, I have been helping my sibling with math for as long as I can remember. I believe that a solid understanding of mathematics is crucial to success, and the demand for people with quantitative skills is only growing.
I am currently working on my Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I attained my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. VCU is where I have held bioinorganic research positions as well as teaching positions. I acted as a teaching assistant in various chemistry and biology classes while studying and am currently an adjunct faculty teaching chemistry courses for the university. In addition to Varsity Tutors, I tutor for PCG education where I prepare students at J L Francis Elemetnary School for their mathematics SOLs. Throughout my different experiences with teaching and tutoring, I have found that each individual requires a different teaching style. Adjusting styles to accommodate different learning styles can be difficult at start, but overtime it helps the success of students to achieve their goals.
I am most interested in improving the critical thinking and critical writing skills of students who will comprise the next generation of college graduates and working professionals. The ability to express oneself clearly through writing is an invaluable skill both within academia and the professional workforce. I believe it is my job to provide students with the necessary preparation and skills they will need to succeed in a college environment and beyond. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy reading fiction (with a special soft spot for sci-fi/fantasy), running and training for my next marathon, and experimenting with new recipes in my kitchen.

Virginia's Standards of Learning (SOL) set specific benchmarks for student achievement, and personalized 1-on-1 instruction is proven to help students master these standards more effectively than classroom instruction alone. This foundation ensures that every subsequent session builds directly toward measurable progress.
