Hello, I currently work in an experimental quantum optics lab and will be enrolled in a quantum computing Ph.D. program at Rice University Fall 2026. I have been an employed tutor at my college (William and Mary) and during my high school career at the Governor's School at Innovation Park for 4 years. I struggled in my first physics class at George Mason University through my Governor's school as a junior in high school, but spent hours restructuring how I learned and approached problems to reach success! Physics and math are my true passions and I cannot wait to use the valuable lessons and strategies I learned to help and support you in your academic journey. William and Mary GPA - 3.95 B.S. in Physics (honors) - 4.0 770 on math SAT 5 on AP Calculus BC exam Experience with Pearson Physics textbook and Griffiths

I am available to help students with any topics they are struggling with in their high school or early college-level Physics courses.
I am a recent cum laude graduate of the University of Amsterdam's Masters in Economics Program where I specialized in Monetary Policy and Banking. While there, I worked as a teaching assistant and tutored in economics and mathematics. Prior to that, I worked as an ESL teacher for two years in Russia and China.
I'm a graduate of the School of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University (2015). I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering, and am pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the VCU School of Business. I've been a mentor for the past four years and am very active in my method of tutoring. I have helped several students with official tests and homework assignments.
I am very excited to have the chance to work with students preparing for the PSAT, the SAT, or the LSAT! While I'm originally from Connecticut, I attended college and law school in Buffalo, New York. While there, I worked for a test prep agency helping students prepare for the SAT and the LSAT. In 2003, I moved to Richmond. I worked with the Virginia Department of Taxation for 7 years doing policy work and assisting with the legislative process. In 2011, I began working for Bryant and Stratton College, where I taught students in the Paralegal Studies program. I loved helping my students prepare for new careers. I can't wait to work with you and help you succeed as well!
I am a graduate of Brigham Young University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with an emphasis in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. As part of my coursework, I studied Arabic for three years and spent a semester in Amman, Jordan. After graduating, I worked on a U.S. Senate campaign, then interned at a think tank and congressional office in Washington, DC. While at the think tank, I co-authored an article that was published in US News and World Report. I am currently pursuing my juris doctorate (JD) at the University of Georgia School of Law.
I am currently a second year law student at Harvard Law School. I am passionate about public interest law, particularly immigration and criminal defense.
I am a graduate of Yale University, where I majored in Global Affairs. After graduation, I spent one year at a liberal arts college in Singapore, where I worked in the writing center and mentored students extensively in academic writing. Since then, I have been traveling, while continuing to tutor writing skills online. I emphasize learning how to write a clear, organized, and persuasive argument supported by solid evidence. In addition, I have experience tutoring students one-on-one with academic subjects and test prep. I enjoy helping my students discover the patterns behind the problems in standardized tests, especially in the SAT and LSAT. I believe in a personalized approach, and I love seeing students gain mastery and understanding of these skills. Next Fall I will be attending law school.
I am often asked by friends to help them with their math homework. I have spent countless hours teaching calculus to engineering, computer science, physics, and economics majors. Being one of seven children, I have been helping my sibling with math for as long as I can remember. I believe that a solid understanding of mathematics is crucial to success, and the demand for people with quantitative skills is only growing.
I am currently working on my Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I attained my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. VCU is where I have held bioinorganic research positions as well as teaching positions. I acted as a teaching assistant in various chemistry and biology classes while studying and am currently an adjunct faculty teaching chemistry courses for the university. In addition to Varsity Tutors, I tutor for PCG education where I prepare students at J L Francis Elemetnary School for their mathematics SOLs. Throughout my different experiences with teaching and tutoring, I have found that each individual requires a different teaching style. Adjusting styles to accommodate different learning styles can be difficult at start, but overtime it helps the success of students to achieve their goals.
I am most interested in improving the critical thinking and critical writing skills of students who will comprise the next generation of college graduates and working professionals. The ability to express oneself clearly through writing is an invaluable skill both within academia and the professional workforce. I believe it is my job to provide students with the necessary preparation and skills they will need to succeed in a college environment and beyond. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy reading fiction (with a special soft spot for sci-fi/fantasy), running and training for my next marathon, and experimenting with new recipes in my kitchen.
I am a lifelong francophile who has lived in Paris, France for almost a year. I am also an avid NCAA men's and women's basketball fan! Go Rams! Go Terps!

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students from all 27 schools across Williamsburg's two school districts. Whether your student attends a school in the Colonial School District or York County Schools, we match them with tutors who understand the local curriculum and Virginia's academic standards.
Virginia's SOL assessments are a key benchmark for student success, and tutors at Varsity Tutors are experienced in helping students master the specific content and test-taking strategies needed to perform well. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction allows tutors to target gaps in understanding and build confidence in areas where students struggle most, whether that's math, reading, science, or social studies.
While Williamsburg's average student-teacher ratio of 13.6:1 is reasonable, individual classrooms still have diverse learning needs and paces. Personalized tutoring provides the focused attention that allows students to move at their own speed, ask questions without time pressure, and get immediate feedback—something that's difficult in even well-sized classroom settings. This is especially valuable for students preparing for standardized tests or tackling challenging subjects.
The first session is about understanding your student's goals, learning style, and current challenges. The tutor will assess where your student stands academically, discuss what brought you to tutoring, and create a personalized plan aligned with their school's curriculum and your family's priorities. This foundation ensures every future session is focused and productive.
Students in Williamsburg seek tutoring across a range of subjects, with particularly strong demand in math (from elementary through algebra and geometry), reading comprehension, and test prep for SOL exams and standardized tests. We also work with students on writing, science, history, and AP/honors coursework as they advance through high school.
Pricing varies based on the subject, tutor expertise, and frequency of sessions you choose. We work with families to find a tutoring plan that fits their budget and academic needs—whether that's weekly sessions for ongoing support or intensive preparation for a specific exam or assignment.
