I am beginning a Master of Fine Arts program in Theatre for Youth and Communities at Arizona State University in Fall 2020. I tutor a variety of subjects, but some of my favorites are Spanish, algebra, writing, and test prep. Watching students grow as learners and as people motivates me to continue my work as a tutor.

My two main passions in life are biology and English--people might see them as completely opposite subjects, but I think they're just two sides of the same coin! I am an Arizona native. Upon graduating from Desert Mountain High School, I attended Rice University and I received my Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with a business focus. At Rice I was a student/athlete representing the Division I Owls in track and field. After several years experience voluntarily tutoring friends and family members I became a professional private tutor my junior year of college. My senior year, I took advantage of the opportunity to reach more students, creating a small private tutoring company in Houston in which I served as lead tutor and conducted all business operations.

I am a recent graduate from Arizona State University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelors in philosophy. I will be attending the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in the fall of 2012. I have always been successful in academics and enjoy school thoroughly. I have also served as a Military Police Officer for the Arizona Army National Guard for over four years. As a tutor, I want to instill confidence into my students. I want them to not only material itself, but I also want my students to find the best learning methods to be successful in their academic work and beyond.

I am a graduate of Texas Christian University. I received my degree in Secondary Education with a Social Studies Emphasis and Mathematics Minor. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Education through the University of Notre Dame while teaching high school math and social studies. I have experience tutoring the PSAT, ACT, SAT, and various math subjects. I look forward to working with you!

I'm fairly new to formal tutoring but I've been helping my five children with their homework for the last 18 years. I consider math and science my favorite subjects, with physics being one of my most favorite. When I'm coaching a student, I believe in a very tailored approach which encourages and strengthens the knowledge and skills that a student has and then adds the information that is needed to succeed. Rote memorization is not my strong suit, I believe in really understanding the underlying organizing principles. In my other job I design houses, and when I'm not doing that I love to read, and hike and do some woodworking now and then.

I'm currently the co-founder of a software-as-a-service company based in NYC. I left law to pursue my passion for technology and I've learned a tremendous amount by working in the tech startup space. Hobbies: books, writing, reading, traveling, music, art, travel
