Aaron
Pre-Algebra Tutor • +25 Subjects
I'm fairly new to formal tutoring but I've been helping my five children with their homework for the last 18 years. I consider math and science my favorite subjects, with physics being one of my most favorite. When I'm coaching a student, I believe in a very tailored approach which encourages and strengthens the knowledge and skills that a student has and then adds the information that is needed to succeed. Rote memorization is not my strong suit, I believe in really understanding the underlying organizing principles. In my other job I design houses, and when I'm not doing that I love to read, and hike and do some woodworking now and then.

With an average student-teacher ratio of 15.1:1 in Flagstaff schools, many students benefit from the focused attention of personalized 1-on-1 instruction. Tutoring fills that gap by giving your student dedicated time to ask questions, work through challenging concepts, and learn at their own pace—something that's harder to achieve in a traditional classroom setting.
Tutors who work with students in Flagstaff are familiar with Arizona's K-12 standards and assessment requirements. They can help students master grade-level benchmarks in core subjects, prepare for Arizona's standardized assessments, and build the foundational skills needed for success in high school and beyond.

The tutor will assess their current level, discuss any academic challenges, and learn about their learning style and goals. This helps create a personalized plan that addresses gaps and builds confidence from day one.
