Teaching struggling readers is my PASSION! I have spent the last 23 years serving in the public education system; from classroom teacher to administrator and EVERYTHING in between! My passion for teaching reading inspired me to obtain my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading from Grand Canyon University before achieving a Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University in 2015. After all these years, my favorite job has always been to work with K-5 kiddos, particularly with those who struggle in reading. I love helping students find success, make gains and be confident readers. All they need is the toolbox, I can give them the tools!

I started teaching my stuffed animals and younger siblings as early as I can remember, probably right after I started kindergarten. I have been working with young children and teaching ever since. I am currently teaching 4th grade Math in Southern WI in a small town and enjoying my life in a house with my husband, 16 year old daughter, 16 yr old step son, dog, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs, gecko lizard, and many fish. We are quite busy with everyone's activities. Having grown up around the globe as a military brat I am definitely enjoying small town time life. I have worked with students from birth-5th grade. I enjoy watching every child reach milestones and learn new skills.

I graduated high school from Bakersfield Christian high school and went out to Arizona to now attend Grand Canyon University for a degree studying Special and Elementary Education. Teaching is a major passion for me because I love kids and want each student to find how they can be successful in life by finding their own passion. Through middle and high school, I tutored any elementary subject that was needed for the children I babysat for. For my friends that I tutored, I mostly stuck with math and history because those are the subjects I did best in. I don't have a specific tutoring style because I think it is best to accommodate for the students needs individually, not just assume what works for one child is going to work for another. Although a lot of my time is taken up with school and work, I also enjoy reading, painting, and anything that gives me an excuse to hang out with my friends.

From there I went on to earn a Master's in Organizational Leadership and Entrepreneurship from Grand Canyon University. Throughout my undergraduate I worked as a laboratory assistant for a cellular biologist. This allowed me to assist in instructing students in laboratory practices. I was there to assist in showing how book work can be translated into real world applications. I have worked extensively with children ages K-6th grade in summer and winter programs at my local church, organizing a team and promoting memorization and application reading. I am a firm believer that anyone can learn any subject if the work is put in. I also understand learning styles are essential in academia. I strive to assist in helping others learn how they can better prepare themselves academically. I have a special kind of love for the science and mathematics field, loving chemistry, biology, and calculus. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, music, and playing with my puppy Nova.

I am a Sonographer specializing in breast ultrasounds for 7 years. I started my ultrasound education after completing my Bachelor's of Science in Biology. I was very unsure of what I wanted to do after undergrad but I found ultrasound and I have been enjoying it every since!I began my ultrasound career at a Level II Trauma Hospital where I learned, trained, and excelled in abdominal, obstetrics and gynecology, small parts, and limited vascular ultrasound studies. While working there I obtained certifications for ARDMS in abdominal , ob/gyn and breast sonography.I started training in Breast imaging shorty after starting at the hospital. I love doing breast ultrasounds because I work very close with the radiologist who give great learning advice and help. The patient aspect in this field is very different from the hospital setting and I enjoyed the more personal time spent with the patients and really helping them to have a peace of mind.Ultrasound is a field that is growing and changing rapidly. I feel proud to be in such a unique and growing area, where I know I can help other students too! I remember where I started and felt almost like I wasn't cut out to do ultrasounds but I had great support from family, friends and school was a big help. If I can help just one student learn and gain max potential then I feel like my life in ultrasound has come full circle.

I am want to help students because I personally struggled in school and I was not given help so I want to help those who are like me and need help. I want to see students succeed and be proud of themselves. I worked at a daycare before this. I worked with toddlers and often went over colors and shapes and numbers with them. I graduated High school two years ago and I am currently working on getting a Bachelors in Social Work. I tutor science for students in kindergarten to Fifth grade. I also tutor for students in math for grades Kindergarten to Fifth grade. I want all students to feel proud of themselves and to know that it is okay to need help and getting help doesn't make you any less of a student then someone else. I want them to like learning and come to be excited to learn. My favorite subject to tutor in is Science. It's something I'm very passionate about and have done a lot of research into it. I always enjoyed the trial and error of science because it encouraged me to try again and again.

Growing up from my childhood I have always loved math and did much better in it than any other class subject. I would feel stupid in class when they were teaching other class and super smart when it came to math. I was considered smart by people who are way smarter than me. But because I excelled in one thing that they did not they thought I was doing great in everything else which I did not. I now have a degree in Electrical Engineering and feel strong tutoring for math and science subjects.
