Long before I graduated in May 2013 from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Public Health, I knew that I wanted to take a gap year between my undergraduate education and medical school to pursue personal interests of mine. These interests include continuing my experience as a tutor, focusing on my physical fitness by jogging, swimming and playing sports, traveling, spending time with my family and friends, and partaking in new activities that I have yet to become involved in due to time constraints. For instance, after graduating from college, I have so far had the chance to work with children as a lifeguard at a private day camp and as a volunteer at Celtic Charms, a therapeutic horseback riding center for the physically and mentally handicapped. Considering that I thoroughly enjoy teaching and working with students of all ages, I really appreciate the opportunities I have had thus far, such as tutoring Statistical Analysis and Principles of Biology I at the college level and GED math to underprivileged students in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Currently, I tutor high school math, including Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus, as well as high school Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
