I am a special education teacher with an MA in Special Education and a Reading Teacher endorsement. I am passionate about literacy and love working with young students. I lived in Brazil for 30 years, and for the last 6 years there, I worked as a Reading Interventionist, working one-on-one with K-12 students who were having difficulties with phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension.

I am fluent in writing, reading, and understanding Mandarin Chinese as well as English. As a native Chinese, I am also familiar with Chinese values, cultures, customs, and societal nuances. The need to broaden and challenge ourselves never ends.

I am a firm believer in every student having their own learning style, and I truly enjoy working within the style of each student I encounter. My greatest success stories were students who made me think outside the box with different approaches to instruction.
