I am currently a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to coming to Madison, I earned a Masters degree in Education at the University of Florida and then taught for six years at a college preparatory school. After completing my B.A. in English with Philosophy Minor from UC Berkeley, I lived in Rome, Italy for two years where I taught English as a Second Language. During this time, I discovered that I had a passion and a gift for teaching.I completed my PhD in Comparative Literature with an emphasis on Latin American Studies from UC Los Angeles in 2009. While at UCLA I taught courses in Comparative Literature (Great Books), Writing Composition, and Spanish. From 2010-2014, I was Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish at Whitman College. I am currently Visiting Assistant Professor of Humanities at Lewis and Clark College where I teach courses in the Core curriculum and Spanish. My objective is to connect with students and stimulate intellectual curiosity, which I believe is the key to learning.

I studied how reading develops in a child's brain and how reading is taught in schools. I also focused on how diversity in children's literature impacts identity development. I went on to study Education at UCLA in their Teacher Education Program, where I earned my MEd and California Preliminary Teaching Credential. Throughout my college years, I gained experience working with Pre-K, TK, K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th-grade classes. Once I obtained my credential and graduated, I gained more experience working at a bilingual (Spanish) school teaching 1st-grade, and later at art and social justice-based school teaching 6th grade.I've been an assistant and student teacher in Pre-K, TK, K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade. I've been the lead teacher in 1st grade and 6th-grade classrooms. I've taught all subjects in both English and Spanish at the elementary level.Outside of tutoring, I love watching TV and movies. I probably spend at least 1-2 hours a day checking out new content. My favorite shows right now are probably Westworld, Money Heist, and Elite. I also love reading books, mostly fiction and YA. If I'm outside, I like to skateboard and try to land new tricks, either on my street or at the skate park.

I am a current medical student (MD/PhD) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. I graduated in 2020 from UC San Diego with a degree in bioengineering: biotechnology. I have been a tutor for the past 5 years and my motto that I try to impart on students is to learn by doing.

I have been doing online tutoring in physics for over seven years and have been teaching for many years. I have a degree in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley. I worked at Lawrence Radiation Labs in Berkeley as well as Lockheed Aerospace Division before starting a computer consulting company (40 plus years). I have worked for many years as a computer consultant including managing large networks, doing cybersecurity and various types of programming especially iPhone and iPad development using Swift and Xcode. I also have a horticulture degree and have taught organic gardening at the middle school and high school levels. I am currently tutoring students in AP Physics (AP 1, AP 2 and AP C Physics are my specialties).

I received a BA at Brown University and I'm currently pursuing an MS in Statistics at Portland State University. Between Brown and Portland State, I have traveled to most countries in Europe as well as many countries in Asia. I have been tutoring Math and Statistics at PCC since 2013, and I enjoy working with students from all different backgrounds. I have tutored Algebra (both beginning and college level), the Calculus series, and even courses in Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. I particularly love Statistics because it is used in so many ways in the modern world! In my spare time, I love being outdoors and practicing meditation.
