Music has always been a passion in my life, and it excites me to help students to fall in love in music. One of my favorite experiences in tutoring was when I taught a dozen children how to play basic notes on the recorder in Papua New Guinea (tropical island in South East Asia).Math is another favorite subject to tutor because I believe every student can become proficient in math when they learn that math is just using blocks of knowledge to overcome problems. As such, I am never discouraged if students are struggling in math; instead, I focus on their strengths and encourage them to use what they know to steadily tackle each question with confidence. In high school, when I researched and presented on the applications of calculus in medicine, I remember how rewarding it was to finally understand how to derive formulas for calculating blood flow in arteries. Finally in my spare time, I like to read the New York times, listen to a cappella music, or exercise in the gym.
