I am a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. I received my Bachelor of Arts in History with a focus on European history and the history of religion. I am extremely passionate about history and writing, and I have enjoyed tutoring students in these subjects for over five years. I began my journey as an educator in 2017, when I taught lessons about human rights and the history of religion to high school students in the San Francisco Bay Area. I continued honing my educational skills at Carleton, where I worked as a tutor and mentor for students with learning differences. I used my deep knowledge of history and writing to help students proofread their essays, study for humanities courses, and teach them important executive functioning and study skills to help them succeed in college. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to form empathic and intentional connections with my students. By learning more about their educational backgrounds and understanding their goals, I become a better mentor who will more effectively guide them through their studies. When I am not tutoring, I like to hike, kayak, read, write, and research my family's history.

I have my Master's of Education from the University of Minnesota in Second Languages and Cultures with a narrow focus on English as a Second Language. I have been brought to the world of tutoring because of my desire to help students through the stressful time of taking those big scary standardized tests. Both the ACT and the SAT gave me a large amount of anxiety when I was a junior in high school and I want to help other students through this process. This desire brought me to tutor kids in the local Boston high schools while I was in college and now I have taken my talents to the Twin Cities.

At Carleton, I played Varsity Soccer, hosted a radio show, and served as an economics prefect/TA for introductory microeconomics classes. I am at an expert level in many math and economics areas. The key to my process is helping you not just 'get the answer' but also understanding the process of how to get there.
