I have 3 years as an assistant English teacher in Japan, 1 year as an ESL instructor in the USA, and plenty of academic background doing research papers in Linguistics/TESOL/Second Language Acquisition.

The first time I "traveled abroad" was through the enthusiasm and exposure to France from my 6th grade teacher. He showed us a film of Paris and I imagined going there and speaking French. Lessons were fun and easy. Now I have a Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College in French and Modern Languages. For more than 20 years I have taught French, English and History in after-school programs, on tour coaches for educational student tours, and as a tutor. I have lived and worked in France teaching sports and music to French children in Burgundy and Dordogne regions. I am a certified high school teacher in both French and English from Penn State. My philosophy is to teach in a manner that is fun and accessible to all. Education and knowledge is light that opens up new worlds and opportunities.

I am a recent graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington, where I majored in Political Science and Mandarin Chinese. This past year I studied abroad and worked in China with the Chinese Flagship Program. I love studying history, languages, literature, and writing, and when I'm not helping students as a tutor, you can find me swing dancing, listening to jazz music, experimenting with vegan baking, and walking my dog.

I am a graduate of The University of Florida. I received my Bachelor of Science with emphasis in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. I then went on to receive my Doctorate of Physical Therapy, also from The University of Florida. Since graduation I have worked in a clinical setting as an outpatient Physical Therapist, where a vital aspect of practice is teaching my patients (education regarding their injury, treatment plan, exercise prescription etc.). Over that time, I have honed many teaching techniques in order to be successful with a variety of patients all with different learning styles; visual, demonstrative, descriptive, etc. I tutor a variety of subjects from anatomy/physiology to math, as all are relevant in the practice of Physical Therapy. I especially love math and anatomy, due to their concrete nature. I am a firm believer in life-long learning and helping others is the best way to continually learn myself. In my spare time, I enjoy fitness, outdoor activities such as biking & hiking, and arts/crafts. I am also a lover of college football, GO GATORS!
