Being a math teacher for 16 years is makes me wanna do more challenging job. Changing the lives of my students from having math anxiety to math excitement is my secret ingredient to challenge and help them excel. I love to face my computer and make strategic plan to improve my teaching. I love to travel to see the world and share something to my students. I treat my students like my own kids and that keep me positive everyday.

I am majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Chemistry at the University of Houston. I have been tutoring Math and Chemistry for 3 years. I have a solid knowledge in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus I, II, and III, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. In addition, I am also participating in two cancer research projects at my university. Lastly, in my spare time, I enjoy reading books, exercise, swimming, writing beauty blog, and traveling.

Few people view standardized tests with joy or fondness. It's hard to accept that a single number, derived from hasty answers to abstract questions, can play such a huge role in your future. My own experience as test-taker and test-teacher has convinced me that as a tool for evaluating students, standardized testing has its share of flaws.But the tests aren't unfair or unbeatable; they challenge you to learn a specific language. I don't mean the fancy vocabulary you'll want in a verbal section, but the forms and patterns of the questions themselves. With thoughtful effort, any student can learn to understand the language of test-taking. As someone lucky enough to be fluent, I hope to share with others what I have gained.

Hey! My name is Ellis, I majored in Computer Science at Evergreen State College. Before CS I was a math major and tutored math privately. I absolutely love helping other people to achieve a clear, intuitive understanding of quantitative subjects. It's all too common for folks to struggle with math and even stress out about it. I hope to help more students to realize that math isn't scary. The most important thing is that we take the pressure off. The primary goal of the tutor should be to make the subject approachable and comprehensible. Once we unlock your intuitive quantitative skills you will find things like math and physics are much simpler than you thought!

I first tutored at BYU in the Physics Tutorial Lab, and I absolutely loved it. Helping people understand the concepts and have it really click for them was immensely satisfying. You can just see that light in their eyes turn on, and bam! They get it. Those kind of experiences led to my decision to make teaching an integral part of my career.I just recently graduate from BYU with a Bachelor's in Physics and will start graduate school in the fall, with the eventual goal of teaching physics in a college setting.Beyond the world of teaching, I love volleyball and the outdoors. Hiking, camping, backpacking, being outside energizes my soul. Volleyball is my sport, and I love teaching the basics to people, but I enjoy practically all sports, despite my pitiable attempts at soccer. Playing guitar, listening to music, and reading books also brighten my life.

I am a current student at New York University, studying for a BS in Applied Physics. I have been tutoring for 4 years, both one on on and in small group settings. I love tutoring because I get to teach others the subjects I am so passionate about. I am excited to get to know new students and learn with them!

I am a Grade 7 & 8 Science teacher and have been teaching for four years. I have taught Grade 5 & 6 English, Science, Home Ec, and Art in Japan for several years, so I can also help with Japanese. I am an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, and am pursuing a dual degree in Movement Science and Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience. I was lucky to have my teacher in college whom I still call mentor now. Four years in college with this special gift built the cornerstone for who I have become and who I have been striving to be. I am forever grateful to my mentor for she did not only teach me knowledge in books but she also taught me how to be a person. I know that the time I met my mentor was the time my life met its turning point: My life has become different since then.My college memories with my English teacher are sweet and still inspirational. She is a graceful lady with an artistic temperament, delicate yet powerful. She is a living example of how education can change a person and benefit the society. Her influence on me never ceases to remind me of the virtue of helping people change their lives to the best of my ability.And to do that, communication is important and indispensible. The better part of education is communication, in a proper way on the right platforms. I believe one can only do satisfying jobs if he/she has passion for them.
