I am a recent Emory law school graduate. I am passionate about building students' confidence in all subjects, but I am most fulfilled when students can express themselves in new ways through language and writing.

I am a graduate of MIT. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with minors in Management Science and Ancient and Medieval Studies. Since graduation, I have started my PhD at Georgia Tech in Operations Research. Throughout my career I have TA'd several math and computer science courses at the college level. I have also taught at summer programs for gifted middle school and high school students. I am passionate about tutoring kids in math and science because I think that a strong foundation in STEM at an early age can set the tone for their future. In my spare time I like to engage in athletics, and was a Division 1 rower in college.
I'm excited to use my experiences as a Harvard grad, bio nerd, high school science teacher, and college prep administrator to help you reach your academic goals!
I am a graduate of Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American History. I recently received my Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began my career as an attorney. I am passionate about continuing my work in education through tutoring. I enjoy tutoring many subjects, particularly History, SAT Reading and Writing, College Essays, and Spanish. I love assisting students in implementing simple but effective changes in their preparation for Standardized Tests that show immediate results. I find this motivates students to continue through struggles in their educational pursuits. When I am not working, I enjoy yoga, running, cooking, traveling and playing the cello.
I am extremely passionate about academics and learning; the value of each was inculcated into me at a very young age. I tutor a variety of subjects largely because I have so many areas of interests and have been privileged enough to pursue knowledge in those areas. I even enjoy tucking away "useless facts"...in fact, those very tidbits got me past the Jeopardy! Online Test and into the Contestant Audition!
I am passionate about helping students learn, reach their goals, and have some fun in the process. I am a speech-language pathologist by training with five years of prior research experience studying language recovery after stroke. I received my Bachelor's degree from Rice University and my Master's at Georgia State University. I have successfully helped students achieve their academic dreams with higher SAT/ACT scores and top-of-the-class grades. My teaching philosophy is student-centered, interactive, and individualized to each student's goals, needs, and strengths.
I am here to help you succeed. But what does it mean to succeed? I think success is not simply a matter of knowledge or ability; it is also about attitude and confidence. Through working with me as your tutor, I hope to help you develop your confidence in your abilities and cultivate a positive attitude that allows you to tackle any challenge that comes your way.
I am an undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Neurobiology (B.S.) and minoring in Jazz Studies and Biomedical Physics. While I tutor many areas within math, science, and standardized test preparation, I am most passionate about biology and algebra because of my interest in these subjects as well as my belief in their importance. I have always been the friend who fellow peers go to for guidance with work and because of this, I have learned the value of patience, communication, and empathy in the education process. I firmly believe that every subject I tutor is vital in a student's path to success and a greater understanding of the world, and because of this, I will fully commit myself to making sure my tutees have a solid grasp of the concepts being taught as well as the ability to apply them to real-world situations.
I am a college sophomore at Brown University. I've been involved in tutoring and mentoring since high school, and I'm excited to get to continue with that work here on Varsity Tutors! My past experiences include working as an instructor at a math learning center for K-12 students, as well as private tutoring for middle and high school students. I would describe my teaching style as conversational; my goal is always to work with you to find a perspective on a topic that makes sense to you. I find that I like to I emphasize a concept's relevance and applications while providing explanations, as well as by providing useful practice scenarios or past examples.
I am a PhD Student in Linguistic Program at the University of Georgia. I received my Master’s degree in English Education at University of Missouri. My area of study is language acquisition and language learning process. As a native speaker of Chinese, my previous teaching experience includes working with bilingual Chinese American children in a Chinese language school and teaching English to the students in Chinese middle school, I am currently an instructor of the linguistic class at UGA. My past experience enabled me to gain excellent teaching skills as well as the ability to work with learners from different language backgrounds and age groups. I believe that language learning is not merely absorbing the linguistics of the language, but also the culture attached to it. I am passionate about Chinese language tutoring and willing to help students prepare for Standardized Tests. By integrating cultural aspects into my teaching, I expect my students to not only develop solid language skills, but also to be able to think in that language, which serves as the soul of that country and people who speak it. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, cycling and yoga.
I am a recent grad from Georgia Tech, majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering (an intersection of math, computer science, and business) and minoring in Business and Technology. I am originally from Columbus, OH, but chose to come down to Atlanta after getting a full-ride scholarship from Georgia Tech. In my spare time, I love playing/watching sports and travelling around the world (when possible!).
I am passionate about teaching others as I believe knowledge is an infinite resource that can be used to help us achieve great things in life. As a student at Northwestern University I have been constantly challenged to learn in new ways and I hope to inspire and help others navigate through various subjects. I am obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience on the pre-med track and I have already attained a legal studies minor. I am a firm supporter of customized learning as finding the best way to teach or learn is the best way to receive amazing results.

The first session is focused on getting to know your student and understanding their specific challenges, learning style, and academic goals.
