About Me

Hi, I'm Merav! I graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre and a Minor in Psychology. My love of theatre actually stems from my passion for classical works such as Shakespeare, Grecian texts, and Jacobean plays. I recently graduated from LAMDA with a Masters in Classical Acting, which required an intense study of classical texts such as Shakespeare and his contemporaries. Not only did I acquire an in-depth understanding of rhetorical devices, grammar and text analysis, but I also honed my ability to take complex and sometimes esoteric passages and express them clearly to a contemporary audience, unfamiliar with such language. My experiences with making classical texts more comprehensible have greatly enhanced my ability to take complex information and distill it into a clearer and simpler form. This, along with my knowledge of developmental and social psychology, has informed my teaching method of tailoring my style to the individual students needs. I am a strong believer that clear communication and open dialogue are vital to a fertile learning environment, and that it is also important to encourage students to push themselves to be the best that they can be.
