I teach entrepreneurs how to protect and deepen customer and employee loyalty.I have an undergraduate degree in Pre Law and Political Science, and graduate degrees in Creative Writing and Education.While teaching middle school and high school history classes, students roleplayed, sampled different types of cultural foods and discussed historical viewpoints and outcomes.They enjoyed portraying the roles of military leaders, which gave them a greater understanding. Afterwards, students shared feedback and compared and contrasted leadership roles.The class enjoyed analyzing and giving reasons why their recommendations would have been more or less effective. Hello! I have been a mathematics teacher for over 10 years, teaching many subjects ranging from basic math through Calculus and various age groups ranging from middle school through college. This has allowed me to become very experienced in teaching and helping students to understand and excel on their own.I have recently become a mother and hence now spend the majority of my time and energy entertaining an infant.

I've a passion for language, literature, culture and travel. Continuing to learn as I teach is vital to me and tutoring affords me the fantastic opportunity of sharing my knowledge, experience and enthusiasm. I got my English degree from Northern Arizona University where I was also an athletic trainer. While my love is admittedly poetry and literature, I am also a science geek and medicine called to me before teaching did. My TEFL with an IELTS certification allowed me to live and teach in Indonesia for almost three years. I taught a wide age range of students both in person then online extensively (as most of found ourselves in early 2020 and then too long after that). Being a curious bird by nature, I found the cultures and languages of Southeast Asia to be captivating. I asked as many questions of my students as they did of me and that helped us relate and work together. Some of my proudest times there (and when I returned home teaching online and in class) were when I would have students with those aha! I get it, I can do it ! breakthroughs. I am currently learning Spanish ( again) and definitely appreciate those forehead smacking aha! moments for myself, as well. For my IELTS and TOEFL students, we started from where they were and built on strengths while working on the tough stuff, primarily writing. I truly believe that listening to students is key for success for both parties. Continual communication is extremely important. Humor and having fun while learning is not only possible but necessary for me and is the way I prefer to teach and tutor. I have found that mistakes will and must be made to move forward, and keeping it light while still putting in the work helps immensely.

Education is the greatest asset a person can have. It's important, but it should also be fun to learn. Many people think education in general is boring when they have to learn about something. I try to keep it light in nature, using humor to help the student be comfortable, but also assist them in gaining confidence while they learn.Using personal experience tends to be helpful also when tutoring. If the student can somehow relate, it is easier for them to retain the information.When I'm not trying to help someone learn, I enjoy spending time with my son reading, photography, wine tastings and crafting. I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Art History and Child Development and completed my master's degree in Communications at the American University of Paris.I am a former classroom teacher at a wonderful Houston charter school, as well as several different schools around the world. I have worked with students from kindergarten to middle school in many different subject areas. I love the learning process, and figuring out how to best design a lesson for a specific student so that learning is fun, engaging and meaningful.For me, learning is not about drilling memorization facts. My ultimate goal with students is to make a connection with them and bring alive pre-algebra, phonics, the questioning mechanics of the SAT - whatever the student is learning. When a connection is made, we can bridge the gaps and make learning fun and lasting. Everyone can be a math person, everyone can love grammar, everyone can write a stellar paper. Every student is different, and every student can achieve success.In my free time I love running (I'm training for my second half marathon!), reading and watching documentaries. I am an avid traveler, and just completed my goal of visiting 25% of the world's countries. I am an enthusiastic person, and love meeting new people.

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Minnesota. I am studying computer science and taking pre-med courses. I've always had a passion for teaching students subjects they need help with. Whenever students come to me with help, I like to break the concept into small pieces. I make sure that the student understands these small pieces by visualizing the concept or explaining the concept in a different way. Overall, adding these small pieces leads the student to understand the main concept.The subjects I tutor are Organic Chem I & II, Physics I & II, CHEM I & II, and CALC I & II. My favorite subject is Organic Chemistry because I loved the critical thinking you have to apply for the course.
