My personal interests vary from cooking to hiking to watching and playing just about every sport possible.I have had many years of tutoring experience in both a class and 1-on-1 setting. My longest experience involved tutoring a group of 10-12 7th and 8th grade students; which included but was not limited to completing schoolwork, preparing for STAR testing, and providing additional quizzes and questions when necessary. I have also had several years of part-time tutoring jobs for children in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade, with additional experience in 1-on-1 tutoring with 2 SAT students.My experience with teaching stems from not just an instructor's perspective, but also as a student; attending after school tutoring from the age of 13 to 17 years old. I believe this is one of the reasons I can connect to students so easily, because I understand the difficulties with learning. My tutoring sessions involve a very interactive approach on the part of the student with a reward based approach for their efforts. This is my way of promoting student interest in the topics of study, to prevent monotony and boredom with school work. I am a passionate and driven pre-medical Biology graduate from the University of Washington who is currently applying to medical schools all over the country. My collegiate studies have enabled me to feel confident in my abilities to tutor life sciences, ranging from human anatomy, biology, environmental science and ecology to biochemistry and physiology. In preparing for and taking the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), widely considered to be the most rigorous of graduate school exams, I further strengthened my abilities in verbal exams, critical reading, and writing at an advanced level.I spend my free time playing soccer, volunteering at the Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) homeless shelter, playing the piano, hanging with friends and much more. I love working with people from all walks of life and have also spent time tutoring a diverse range of people at Seattle Education Access in the past. In May of 2015, I graduated from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota. There, I earned my degree in Biochemistry while working as a coffee shop barista, environmental chemistry laboratory assistant, and emergency department medical scribe. Further, as an undergraduate, I developed a love for teaching as I worked as a Teacher's Assistant in various biology and chemistry laboratory courses and later had the opportunity to serve as a private tutor in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with students in the subject areas I love.With academic understanding comes excitement, further curiosity, and a sense of achievement. Leading my students toward this understanding is my goal, and something I take great pride in. In August of 2015, I began my medical school education at Creighton University. I am excited to continue working as a tutor while earning a degree that will allow me to be a life-long teacher.

I am a Health Sciences and Biology double major at Northeastern University, graduating in just one year. I have worked in part-time biology research lab for three years, as well as full-time in a hospital in Boston for over a year now, in both clinical and research settings.My tutoring experience started a few years ago when I taught a nutrition class to children in their early teens, teaching them the basics of nutrition, such as picking healthy ingredients and avoiding processed foods.
