Session Summaries by Finance Tutors

Lakewood, CO Finance tutoring
The student seems very prepared for his Chemistry final tomorrow. We went over everything that his previous tutor had indicated we should go over, and he seemed very comfortable with all of it. We mostly just did a comprehensive review of key concepts and he said he feels that he is prepared, and if he runs across something in his studying that he isn't 100% sure of, he believes he has all the resources he needs to find the correct answer.

The student told me that she felt much more comfortable with the material after our first session together.  Last Wednesday, after we covered the necessary material for her to complete her homework, we discussed material that she would be covering in her class within the next week.  She was very happy that we did this because she automatically felt more comfortable with the material she is learning in class at the moment.  Topics covered today included: relationships among functions (sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, and cotangent), special equations, and solving problems using these methods.  The student did not find this material particularly difficult, but did find it time-consuming.  We focused on being more organized and paying attention to details when solving problems.

Inequalities and exponential functions today. The student's grades are looking good. The only struggles are with combining like terms (getting subtraction/addition mixed up with multiplication/division). We will focus on that when we continue tomorrow!

The student and I reviewed the assumptions and information pertaining to a "Super Project" (actual name) that involved the evaluation of whether or not a new product offered by a corporation should be pursued (and if it would be profitable). This project requires the application of capital budgeting, and we discussed several of the assumptions needed and I provided guidance on the setup of the cash flow worksheet that would be used. We are still in communication regarding any follow up questions that he may have as he prepares to meet with his group.
