I am a strong believer that anyone can learn anything! I attended the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate and recently finished my Master's in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As a tutor, I create a space where my learners can feel empowered and safe to take on the sometimes difficult, yet often fulfilling and fun, challenge of learning new things. I practice a growth mindset philosophy, and I often say that it is okay to be wrong, it just means you haven't learned the material... yet. With patience and effective pedagogy, I strive to give my students confidence that they can learn anything they set their mind to. I take my students' desires, motivations, goals, and interests seriously. Fun fact: I am an international student from Malaysia!

I am a certified elementary and ESL teacher committed to my students and their learning. I am passionate about teaching and love finding new ways to help my students.
I'm a current senior at Harvard University earning a double major in Environmental Science and Public Policy and Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. During my time at Harvard, I've done a wide variety of education-related work. I've taught my own self-designed course on Feminism, Intersectionality, and Queer Theory to high school students in both the US and Vietnam, and I currently design and lead customized inclusivity trainings with Harvard's Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
I am currently a medical resident at Brockton Hospital and will be continuing my training in Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital next summer. I received my medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed my undergraduate training at Northwestern University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
I am a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering. Since graduation, I worked as an engineer for more than two years. I am now preparing to go to medical school. In my spare time, I enjoying training for a half marathon, reading mystery books, dancing to Bollywood and Salsa music, and singing tunes that are stuck in my head.
I am passionate about empowering others to not only reach academic progress, but also gain a greater self-confidence through encouraging, patient tutoring. I am a middle school school STEM teacher seeking additional students to help in my out-of-work hours. Finally, I am a Cornell University alum and am confident in my ability to teach students in a range of fields - anything from English, ESL, art, writing, social studies to math and computers. Looking forward to hearing from you!
I am certified to teach physics at the high school level. I taught high school physics for 17 years before going on to further graduate study. I also have experience teaching mathematics at the community college level. I can help you with chemistry, physics, statistics and/or calculus for high school, Advanced Placement or introductory college level. I am a certified and experienced former middle-school teacher, with a particular passion for teaching reading and writing. I've also enjoyed teaching ESL and sharing my enthusiasm for learning Spanish. These experiences have included working with children from kindergarten through 12th grade.
I am a recent Chemistry Ph.D. graduate with a 7 month break before starting in my next role in management consulting. As the most enjoyable experiences of my career to date have been in teaching and mentoring, I am spending the intervening period tutoring!
I am a recent graduate of Bowdoin College with a BA in Biology, English, and Theater. I have been tutoring pretty steadily in one form or another since middle school and am quite comfortable tackling diverse subjects in both the arts and sciences. As a native Spanish speaker, reader, and writer I have years of experience tutoring students at all proficiency levels in the language. My bilingual background has also given me the opportunity to work with native Spanish speakers in other academic subjects. I bring a compassionate and collaborative approach to teaching. I strongly believe that a tutor must treat his or her student as a teammate and not as someone who merely needs instruction. The goal of any tutoring session should be to bring out and foster a student's own capacity to understand and excel in a given field, which begins with respect. I am currently pursuing a graduate study in biology- where my interests primarily lie in evolution and bioanthropology.
I am comfortable with changing my approach to best meet my students' needs.
I am happy to work with students to help them discover the strategies that are most efficient and satisfying for them.
I am a graduate of Princeton University, where I received my B.A. in Classics with a focus on Roman History and a minor in Environmental Studies. Since graduation, I have worked as a teacher in Lawrence MA, where I help design curriculum for social studies and science and teach reading, math, social studies, and science to kindergarten through first grade students. I have also tutored adults working towards their GED, led ESL conversation classes, and worked with high school age students. I have experience tutoring a broad range of subjects and working with a wide variety of ages. Whether it’s learning how to be a better test-taker or honing an essay on Shakespeare, my favorite thing about tutoring is seeing the great progress my students make. Although my college focus was on history and literature, I also love to tutor math, which was my favorite subject all through middle school and high school. Outside of academics, I love playing field hockey, hiking, traveling, and spending time with my family and two corgis.
I am a bioengineer who has experience working in the biotech startup industry. I received my Master of Science in Engineering in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. While at the University of Pittsburgh, I started to tutor my fellow peers in Engineering Physics I: Mechanics and Engineering Physics 2: Electricity & Magnetism, and it was then that I discovered my passion for tutoring. Seeing a student not only understand physics, but actually enjoy learning about it was easily the most rewarding aspect of tutoring. Their enjoyment led to success and further study of the material, and I was very happy to have contributed to that. From my experiences, I observed that a teaching philosophy based on constant questioning, student participation, and interdisciplinary learning provided the greatest enjoyment and success for students. Relating the material in a manner which the student understands has always been a priority of mine, and combining this approach with a logical, building-block type style has yielded strong results for me and the student. While I do tutor mathematics, usually ranging from Calculus I all the way to Differential Equations, I am most passionate about teaching physics. It is rewarding to see how a student who learns physics understands and appreciates the world around them on a deeper level. In the end, I wish to help students not only learn physics, but also enjoy learning physics, and I hope to spread this appreciation to all my students. Outside of work, I greatly enjoy going to museums, playing and watching all kinds of sports, hiking and other outdoor activities, reading philosophy, and playing guitar.
I am a doctoral student in theater history at Yale University currently living in Boston. I also hold a B.A. with honors in English Literature. I offer tutoring in elementary and middle school math, English literature, and reading comprehension; I can also offer particular expertise in writing.
I am a recent Tufts University grad with a degree in chemical physics and environmental studies. I am a dual citizen of the United States and Sweden and apparently sleep talk in both languages. My biggest passion is the preservation of the environment, and I hope to start a career as an environmental scientist. I am currently certified to both prepare students for the ACT exam and tutor mathematics (algebra and pre-calculus), physics, chemistry, and general science. In my free time I enjoy reading, skiing, hiking, cooking, longboarding, sailing, and watching over the top action movies. I do not want to give you the right answers; I want teach you how to find the right answers yourself. That means I will be patient and help you understand the fundamentals of the subject matter. I understand that preparing for a test like the ACT might seem hard, but I want to show you that you have what it takes to conquer the exam.
I am a Masters in Teaching student at Brandeis University with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Business from Brandeis University. I prioritize access to a quality education. I work to provide personalized and differentiated instruction for every student in my tutelage. I work with parents and other caregivers to create the most well-rounded, successful learning plan for students, and work as a team with students and parents to develop learning goals. I help students to develop ownership over their own learning, and to feel successful about the skills they are developing as they continue to progress. I have worked with students as an SAT preparatory tutor, as an ESL tutor, and in an elementary school classroom as a student teacher. I am passionate about every subject I tutor, but my personal strengths are in developing literacy skills (reading and writing) in students K-12. I care about my students, and work to incorporate my students' interests and strengths into each tutoring session. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy exploring the Mass Audubon Reservations, hiking, reading, and skiing in the winter months.
I am a motivated Mechanical Engineering student at UMass Amherst, with a strong passion for teaching. In my free time, I rock climb, dance, and build crazy robotics projects. I love helping students of all ages build understanding and excitement for various subjects. I believe that, with patience and the right set of tools, you can grow to enjoy any subject. Throughout college I tutored high school students through the TRiO High School Upward Bound program. My favorite part about working with students of all ages is watching the lightbulb go off when they understand a concept or process. I also enjoy getting to know students and working to find a way to help them learn best. In my free time, I like to create art, go for hikes and explore Denver.
I'm a master's student studying Civil Engineering hoping to design buildings one day. I've always enjoyed Math and Science and hope I can help you enjoy it too!
I've worked as a tutor on/off for the past 15 years. I started my tutoring my mother's students while in elementary school and later worked as teacher's assistant in college and a tutor for an after- school program in Poughkeepsie. On the side, I've worked as a private tutor for undergraduate and graduate students since graduating from college. I love to teach and I hope to eventually become a professor! In my professional life I have worked as a Data Scientist and Data Analyst for the past six years. I use R, SQL, Python, Tableau, JavaScript visualizations, and Looker to build data pipelines and provide quantitative insights.
I am a current PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics) student at George Washington University.
I am currently studying Civil Engineering and Computer Science at Tufts University. Degree expected May of 2016. As the oldest of three siblings, I have spent a lot of time huddled around math and science textbooks, explaining concepts and helping my brother and sister see problems the way I do.
I'm a recent MIT graduate, and studied math and architecture, and believe learning comes from experience and example. MIT's motto "mens et manus", meaning "mind and hand", resonates deeply with me as a pedagogical philosophy. I enjoy tutoring math, as well as 3D visualization and design, both of which lend themselves well to interactive learning. I hope to teach students both content and applications of concepts in math, CAD, coding, and other related disciplines.
