I graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in English in 2012 and joined Teach For America the following fall. Here, I taught English to a wide variety of students, including English language learners and students with learning disabilities. I quickly realized that to have a lasting impact on my students, my lessons needed to be engaging! This is a fundamental part of my teaching philosophy. I have experience working with students from elementary school through adulthood, and I've also worked in the editorial departments of various publishing organizations, including WW Norton and the New England Review. I have been a teacher for ten years. I have taught at eight different schools and thrive in mostly the Humanities. While a high school teacher at heart and by profession, I have also worked with elementary age children with learning differences.

I am a Boston College graduate with a major in Business and minor in English. I worked for a few years as a management consultant before pivoting to pursue writing and teaching. I love to teach and mentor students, particularly those who are high school-aged, to help strengthen their academic muscles and build confidence in their abilities to excel inside, and outside, the classroom. As a full IB Diploma holder, I understand the rigor of academia and am intimately familiar with ways to approach it successfully, from mastering subject material to time management methods. I am here to help students through an empathy-driven, holistic tutoring approach that involves getting to know students' strengths and areas for improvement, personalities, schedules and potential stressors outside of the classroom, as well as providing tips for balancing academic work with other activities.My experience includes mentoring and tutoring essay writing, English language, and college preparation to students from a diverse array of backgrounds, from future first-generation college students to those in NGO schools in impoverished areas of India. Outside of academia, I have worked as a management consultant and at a startup. I am a graduate of Walt Whitman High School and a current Senior at Harvard University. I am a pre-medical student who has been accepted to medical school, and I am a Slavic Languages and Literatures Major. I have tutored private clients in elementary, middle, and high school math for years; worked with disabled students on improving communication and academic skills through the "Best Buddies" program; and taught English language to Russian speakers during a U.S. State Department study abroad scholarship in Moldova. Though I tutor a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Math, and Public Speaking. In my experience, preparing students for Standardized Testing is immensely satisfying (especially in the Writing and Reading sections) as so much of a student's success is based on their mastery of testing techniques and strategies. I also firmly believe that Public Speaking, as well as organizational skills, are critical to a student's level of confidence and advancement in any subject. I understand that each individual student has a unique approach to learning, and I try to pinpoint the most effective study and comprehension strategies for each of my students, so that he or she feels that his or her time is being used effectively, and so he or she can utilize new tools for success in future classes. In my spare time, I enjoy theater (whether that be participating as a performer or singing along to songs in the car), soccer, dance, and reading.

Engineer by day, tutor by night! When not building implants, I enjoy exploring math and physics with students of all ages. I've tutored students in Kindergarten through college, helping with understanding everything from basic addition to multivariable calculus. I have a bachelor's degree in mechanical and biomedical engineering from Tufts university.

I just recently graduated from Villanova University with a BS in Chemical Engineering, and dual minors in Biology and Bioengineering. At Villanova, I was the president of the Club Running team, Commissioner of Intramural Sports, and heavily involved in service. Outside of the classroom, I've held internships and co-ops with ChemSolv, Inc., GlaxoSmithKline, and Johnson & Johnson, as well as presented research at the American Chemical Society National Expo. Beginning in the fall of 2015 I will pursue a PhD in Chemical Engineering at MIT.My hobbies include every and all sports, both playing and watching, playing keyboard and singing vocals in a local rock band, cooking, and outdoors activities. My go-to fun-fact is that I am the youngest of 9 children!

After I graduated from La Sorbonne with a Bachelor in Archaeology, I expanded my academic horizons with a master's degree in Sociology in Paris, Now, as I've recently moved to the United States, I've decided to focus on another passion of mine: teaching French to non native speakers.Making education accessible for all is one of my priorities, so I'm excited for the opportunity to provide personalized tutoring.
