Tutoring review by Nick in Ellensburg, WA
The student and I worked on his math and writing homework. He is now moving into solving problems with area and perimeters. He solved most of them by himself today and I helped him with some of the last few that gave him some problems. We also finished his writing assignment. We got a head start on it last week and finished it up tonight.

Today was my first tutoring session with the student. We went over her homework for today, which was an assignment on integrals and finding the area between two curves. I found that she really needed some reinforcement when it came to integrals, so we started with a refresher course on that. Afterward, I walked her through the first few problems of her homework, and she seemed to catch on quite quickly. By the end of the assignment, she was doing the problems almost entirely on her own, and understood what she was doing, as well. She seems like a strong math student in general. We'll continue to work on her new material, in the future, while still saving time to work on past areas that she needs more help with. It was a good first session!

Tutoring review by Jennifer in Ellensburg, WA
We began with reviewing the student's extra math practice that I left her last time. She did very well on this practice. After this, I helped her with her math homework that focused on fractions. She did very well on this, and she only had a couple of problems with this assignment. I am already seeing improvements in her math skills! I created practice problems for her, focusing on fractions and word problems. She did very well on these practice questions. After math, she read an English passage and answered multiple choice questions based on the passage. She only got one of these wrong. Furthermore, I created short-answer questions based on the passage. She had very well-written responses to all of my questions. I left her with a lot of practice math problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions) to complete before our next session.

Tutoring review by Paul in Ellensburg, WA
We studied techniques of integration by parts and had some discussion about infinite limits and discontinuous integrands. Also, we talked about numerical methods and worked a Simpson's rule problem.

Tutoring review by Azar in Ellensburg, WA
Today, we reviewed material that encompassed the 4 classes of macromolecules, and I phrased questions based on this material to see the student's understanding of the topic. We covered the vocabulary, structure, and function of carbohydrates and protein in detail. Then, we explored the general functions and characteristics of enzymes and polypeptide structure. I also brushed up on the topic of cellular respiration to further prepare him for what lies ahead.

Today the student wanted to go ahead and look at the next chapter of her textbook, so we went over formation of adverbs and the perfect tense. We then did a few Latin to English exercises from her textbook and finished the lesson with some English to Latin exercises to reinforce the perfect conjugations and her new vocabulary. She is doing a great job with Latin. I am very pleased with her progress.
