Session Summaries by Accounting Tutors

Accounting Tutoring review by Elnora in Raleigh-Durham, NC
The student successfully completed the quantitative portion of the second problem, which involved adjustments to the master budget based upon different scenarios. She completed the first set of scenario questions related to the budgets affected, changes in net income and balance sheet items, and the recommendation, and only needed to slightly adjust the changes based upon the review of an alternate spreadsheet that was saved. Again, all additional calculations were completed, and I recommended that we go back and make a small adjustment to the cash receipts budget for each of the scenarios including the "base" calculation. She answered the questions related to the second scenario, and will be working on completing the questions for the last two - I believe she will be able to do this successfully as they are based upon a comparison of the "base" tabs and numbers versus the "results" tabs and numbers.

Accounting Tutoring review by Cortland in Raleigh-Durham, NC
In today's session the student completed the final assignment from his online coursework - two essay questions about fiscal policy. This still remains to be a shaky concept for him. Due to missing a few days last week due to illness, we are attempting to work at an accelerated pace. After completing lesson seven, we continued onto lesson 8 which covers chapters 18 and 19 of the text. Section 18.1, which we covered in today's session, introduces the concept of trade and specialization. Key words include absolute advantage and comparative advantage. On a first run through of the material the student showed high levels of interest in world trade.
