I am currently a student at Occidental College, earning my B.A. in American Studies. I have tutored and taught students for the past five years in a variety of subjects in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Melbourne, Australia. I currently tutor in SAT writing and verbal preparation, essay writing skills, English, and Literature. My favorite subjects to tutor are definitely those that involve writing, because they provide fantastic opportunities for students to express their creativity. Teachers made a huge difference in my life when I was growing up. Now, as an adult, I feel lucky to be able to give back as a tutor. I love getting to know my students, learning how they tick. Then I went on to teach middle and high school classes as a Teach for America teacher for a couple of months.After completing two Master degrees in business and bioscience, I worked as a product manager in the medical device industry for the past 10+ years.My kids are now four and six, and I decided to take some time to be a stay-at-home mom to be more involved in their lives. Taking on tutoring jobs during my free time gives me the opportunity to interact and help others, which I really enjoy.
