About Me

I graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Post-graduation, I was a Consultant in Deloitte Consulting's Strategy & Operations practice for four years. Most recently I decided to change my career and am currently pursuing a MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller. I am most interested in tutoring math (middle school, high school, SAT/ACT, GRE, AP Statistics) for many reasons. My affinity for math dates back to my childhood - I've always been intrigued by it. Because of this interest, I participated in various math competitions and excelled in classes and on standardized tests. I wanted to share my passion with others and so started tutoring peers as early as middle school. Although I graduated from Rice with a BA in Psychology, my time with math did not end there. I took Differential Equations and various statistics courses as electives (for fun)! My tutoring experience includes informal tutoring of peers throughout my lifetime, private tutoring of high school students during college, teaching at a private high school during college, and mentoring peers and new hires during my time with Deloitte. As people think differently, I believe in adapting my teaching style to fit each student. Because of my varied professional background, I am able to explain problems from different angles; this allows students to choose the method they personally find most logical. In my spare time, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, swing dancing, interesting discussions, and traveling (I have been to over 20 different countries in the last 5 years)!
