I am a rising sophomore at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where I study Biomedical Engineering. I also plan to minor in Spanish and study abroad in Madrid in hopes of graduating with a second language. I began tutoring middle school aged students while I was in high school. Through years of working in child care and at my poolside cafe summer job, I grew to love engaging with younger kids. Tutoring presented an exciting opportunity to continue to do so while sharing my own academic dedication and passion with other students. Regardless of the subject or grade level, I will offer students the individualized attention and motivation they may need. I will help students overcome academic frustration and develop study strategies and organizational practices that will allow them to stay on top of their work and become more confident in the classroom.*At this time, I am primarily looking to do remote college essay editing and Common App review. I have experience guiding rising seniors through the essay process - from brainstorming an initial idea to fine-tuning grammar - and will help students craft essays that reveal their unique perspective and allow them to stand out among other qualified applicants. Beyond school and tutoring, I love to go for morning runs, play soccer, walk my dog, and cheer on my hometown Boston sports teams. I also enjoy traveling, healthy cooking, and reading on the beach.
