About Me

I am currently a graduate student and teaching assistant in the History department at California State University, Northridge. I also earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in History at CSUN. I work on campus in the Michael Patterson History Writing Center as a writing tutor for students enrolled in history courses. With its personalized approach, one-on-one tutoring is an exceptionally powerful tool for any student looking to improve their grades, their confidence, and their educational experience. I greatly enjoy watching my students improve their logical thinking processes, become clearer written communicators and, of course, see higher grades! I believe that writing is a skill similar to any other: with practice, dedication, and a little help, anyone can become a clear, effective writer. In addition to my experience with one-on-one tutoring, I have also taught reading, public speaking, and study skills classes to students as young as Kindergarten all the way up to graduate students. Reading, study habits, public speaking, and organization are all skills that, like writing, can be honed with guidance and practice. I truly believe that cultivating these skills leads not only to improved academic performance but to improved confidence and self-esteem in all areas of life. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exercising, playing with cats, and learning everything I can about the world.
