I am a current graduate student at Marquette University studying to earn a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. I previously graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) with a B.A. in Psychology (with Distinction) and Sociology. While attending SMU, I worked as a tutor for high school and college students in the Dallas area. Prior to college, I also had the opportunity to tutor students in elementary, middle, and high school, while I attended high-school in California. The primary subjects I tutor include mathematics, psychology, and sociology, as well as help with study skills and test preparation. I also tutor students for the SAT math, GRE Quantitative, GRE Analytical Writing sections.I really enjoy all of these subjects equally so my ultimate goal is to create an individualized and enjoyable learning environment that fits each student's style in order to promote the most success. Previously, I have tutored in local summer schools, focusing on remedial reading, math, and art in elementary school aged children. Each mind is unique and people cannot expect cookie cutter methods to work for all people. Being able to have someone help you to understand something in a way that works best for you will make learning more rewarding, more succesful, and more effective. If a method doesn't work for you, try something different, and keep trying until you find one that does.

I am a biomedical engineering graduate from Arizona State University and a first year medical student. As a student myself, I often times find myself leaning on tutors more than the teachers. For that same reason, I would like to help students feel comfortable working with me in the long-term for subjects like algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. But also, for short-term goals such as ACT test prep. I've taken the exam and know exactly how to help students perform well. I tutor students in a way that is fun, helpful, but also logical. Students learn best when subjects are broken down into simple, easy-to-understand steps. That's my teaching style, taking concepts and moving forward one step at a time.In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities and playing sports.
