I hold a Master of Accountancy, from University of North Florida and since receiving my degree have tutored and taught as I have a passion for helping my community. When I begin to work with students, I tend to try obtaining an understanding as to where they are with understanding the material and what or why they are having difficulties grasping a concept and we work together from there. I realize I cannot force one to like or want to do accounting but I want to help their learning it as smooth as possible; I love seeing light-bulbs! I am a recent graduate of SUNY Polytechnic Institute where I received my Master of Science in Accountancy with a concentration in Forensic Accounting and Valuation. Several years prior to that, I graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. I have been a licensed CPA in New York State for almost 20 years and have extensive experience in the accounting field. I am currently engaged in public accounting, but my knowledge base is bolstered by various private accounting experiences in small manufacturing companies, a regional bank, and a nonprofit organization. I have been teaching and training colleagues, staff, and clients for many years. I have discovered that it is a natural inclination for me and has become my passion, particularly encouraging younger staff members to excel. I endeavor to teach in such a manner that students transition beyond understanding the basic concepts presented to being able to apply them effectively in practice.

I am beginning my senior year the the University of Central Florida. My major is in finance. I have a 4.0 GPA and have been a tutor at my local high and middle school for the past 2 years. I look forward to helping more people!

I am a commercial real estate agent in Round Rock, Texas. I moved to the Austin area in August, 2015 from Hawaii. I lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for 5 years, where i owned and managed 3 coffee shops and a coffee roasting business. I have also worked at the University of Idaho in Web Communications and for a family owned equipment dealership in New Hampshire.In my time off, I can be found cycling, hiking, and working out at the gym. I also build and maintain WordPress websites for a few small businesses. I have also picked up photography as a hobby.

My greatest passion in life is helping others learn and understand. I love learning new things myself, but nothing compares to the sense of accomplishment and purpose that comes with helping others do the same. I am a first-year MBA student at Cornell Johnson's School of Business, class of 2024.I earned my undergrad degree from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN in 2009. I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Following graduation, I commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps and spent 12 years working in intelligence and recruiting. I completed multiple graduate-level schools while in the Marine Corps.Throughout my time in the Marine Corps, I spent countless hours teaching and mentoring both peers and subordinates in lessons pertaining to leadership, management, finances, intelligence, recruiting, human relations, and physical fitness. In 2012, while deployed on a ship, I taught undergraduate economics as an adjunct professor for Park University. Some of my most rewarding moments in my career were times when I was able to sit one-on-one, or with small groups, and teach my Marines valuable lessons in leadership and life skills. During the 2021/2022 school year I homeschooled my two children (2nd grade and pre-k). Teaching them, and teaching other young children in our homeschool co-op, has been a joy and has broadened my desire to teach young children in elementary-level math, history, and English.
