I graduated from Baylor in 2019 with a Master of Arts in Spanish, where I wrote a thesis on physical and psychological death in the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca. I am graduating from the University of North Texas this summer (2022) with a Master of Arts in French. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and another in French from the University of St. Thomas, with a minor in General Business, in 2016. I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America program.My philosophy in language learning is to help the student fall in love with the language and the possibilities inherent in speaking another language; this includes studying the diverse cultures that speak it, not only in Europe, but in North America, Africa, and Asia. I want to help students learn another language to interact with more people and broaden their perspectives, in order to become better global citizens.

At heart, I have unshakable faith in each student's capacity to successfully navigate all subjects. All it takes is figuring out where our individual potholes are, and filling them in! No more flat tires on the same old bad habits or missing information.For me, the best part of tutoring is watching a student realize he or she is not limited to the difficulties of a subject or skill. I love the moment when a student says "I guess I could be a math person!" Or, "I dropped the word 'loquacious' in conversation, you should have seen their faces!"Too often, we define our capabilities in such harsh and rigid ways. If we don't understand math as quickly as our peers, we aren't good at math. If diagramming parts of speech doesn't make sense the first time, that must be the only way to learn it, and we're out of luck. If we get so nervous for tests that our minds go blank, we resign ourselves to grades that reflect nerves instead of knowledge.No!
