I'm an undergrad student at Stanford University studying Computer Science and American Studies. I am passionate about teaching and mentorship, and find that the best way to learn more about a subject is to teach it.

I'm a junior at MIT pursuing a B.S. in Computational Neuroscience, and a B.S. in Philosophy. Starting in high school, I have served in a multitude of teaching/tutoring roles, including: tutoring all levels of high school math (from pre-algebra to AP Calculus BC); teaching a six-week class on psychology to underserved high school students in the Boston area; teaching chemistry, biology, and computer science at a STEM summer camp to 6th-9th graders; working as a TA in a college-level philosophy seminar; and even teaching choreo for a hip-hop dance workshop series! And, though my teaching experience centers largely around STEM subjects, I also have a deep love for history, English, and philosophy, and am excited to work with students in these areas as well. In general, I have an intense passion for learning anything and everything, and my top goal when working with any student is to ignite their own curiosity, and awaken their inner desire to understand themselves and the world. I am a graduate from Stanford University. I received my Bachelor's in Economics there and continued to receive a certificate in Full Stack Web Development from the University of Texas Austin. I have tutored intermittently, primarily teaching test prep; however, I have at different points taught most everything. Here in the Houston area, I've worked with Testmasters, C2 Education and Test Geek. I implement the Socratic Method into my teaching style: I ask plenty of questions that force students to deeply understand the material and to explain how they know why their answer is correct or not. I also believe it is my duty to equip students with tools to become better learners themselves which entails welcoming unique and creative approaches to solving problems, encouraging students to connect the relationships between different topics and subjects, and recommending using external sources and materials to learn and supplement understanding. I'm in a good position to talk about how certain concepts are used in the real world. I'm also a huge bookworm and offer SAT Critical Reading prep as well as general tutoring for writing. My hobby is creative writing and I'm currently writing up parts of my dissertation for publication, so I can help with writing from literary analysis to history research papers to the writing aspect of lab reports. I am a sophomore, English and Computer Science double major at Carleton College who is ecstatic about teaching and spreading my love of learning. I am also greatly interested in sociology and gender studies, and have yet to decide if I will minor in one of those fields, too. I love helping students discover a passion for reading and expressing themselves through writing. My favorite areas to tutor are those having to do with English; I enjoy everything from AP Literature to essay writing for class. Because I majored in Neuroscience, I have expertise in a wide range of sciences, as Neuroscience is a very interdisciplinary subject. I have also had extensive experience in Computer Science. Outside of Neuroscience, I devoted a lot of time to studying the humanities. I even started a blog my junior year as an outlet to further pursue these academic interests! I am currently attending Johns Hopkins University, pursuing a dual degree in Computer Science and Applied Math and Statistics.
