I have spent a majority of my life within an academic environment. Along the way I have acquired a BSBA in Finance and Marketing, a Juris Doctorate, and a Masters in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management. I have worked with several banks ranging from investment to commercial. I have studied financial compliance. I have passed the Florida Bar Examination.I believe in tailoring academia to a specific student(s) needs, strengths, weaknesses, and requirements. Each subject is different, and no two students are alike. Mastering subject matter can be accomplished in several formats, not simply the most commonly used method. A strong foundation and thorough understanding of basic concepts permits the creation of an efficient pathway to more complicated material that can be easily comprehended at each stage.I have recently stepped away from the private sector in an effort to give back to the community that gave so much to me. I volunteer regularly at various organizations. I teach yoga. Now, I have determined that reaching back to my roots in the academia and sharing the knowledge gained can make all the difference in a student's education and enrichment.

I'm currently a part time stock trader and SAT prep (math) instructor.I went to NC State for my degree in Statistics. Statistics is the science of explaining complex numbers/data into easy to understand language and I'm proud to say I refined that skill to a expert level. This has shaped the very way that I think about things in everyday life. I'm actively aware of language that might be misleading or lack specificity, which will undoubtedly benefit students learning new ideas. I particularly enjoy tutoring principals of Statistics, as its widely dismissed as "too hard".

I am currently an undergraduate student in the School of Engineering at the University of Virginia (UVA), and an alumnus of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST). I plan to major in Computer Science and minor in Economics. The very first time I got involved in tutoring was in middle school where I participated in a program called Homework Helpers. Since then, I have taken up multiple tutoring/teaching opportunities. For the past 3 years, I have been a teaching assistant at Manabadi, a Telugu school, where I help students learn to read, write, and speak Telugu. Recently, I taught a group of elementary and middle school students the basics of Java (a programming language). While I am open to tutoring a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about computer science, math, and economics. Through tutoring, and being tutored myself, I have learned that enthusiasm, patience, time management, and relatability are some of the most important qualities of a successful tutoring session. I hope to incorporate these qualities to make every tutoring session a comfortable environment to learn, ask questions, and make mistakes.

I'm an experienced individual who loves to see people meet their goals. With 7+ years experience in the Marines, I have learned unique life skills and understand the nature of difficult circumstances. I am currently attending college at the University of Texas at San Antonio for Civil Engineering.Learning has not always been a walk in the park for me. Coming out of the military I had to reteach myself a lot of the skills I learned in high school; because of this, I can better relate to students who are having difficulties with course subjects. By tackling subjects with a multi faceted approach, and proper guidance, I believe any student can achieve his or her academic goals.I am especially interested in mathematics and the physical sciences and love helping those who struggle in these areas. In my off time I like to lift weights, play basketball, and read life enriching material.

I am a teacher with a highly qualified license. I am currently teaching 5th grade accelerated students. Teaching is a great passion of mine! I am truly inspired by being a part of the academic and personal growth that students experience; it is priceless! I have experience in working with accelerated G.A.T.E (gifted and talented) students, as well as students who are struggling below grade level. I strongly believe that many students simply need a different perspective when trying to understand certain concepts. Whether it may be fractions or literature, I am trained in advancing my students to reach that next level within their learning process. My goal as an educator, is to guide students in determining their strengths and weaknesses and to coach them on self-discovery, so they may find ways to improve!

I have been a math teacher for 10 years; I love math and I love teaching!I totally get it: for most people, the end-goal of studying math isn't to become a mathematician or to fall deeply in love with division and derivatives. For most people, math is just a tool that they need to use (or study) to achieve a goal (becoming a doctor) or to accomplish a task (figuring out how much paint you need to paint that funny shaped room). So, I don't expect my students to love math because of its inherent beauty. They might, who knows? I just want to help them use math to achieve their own goals.

Hello!I am a graduate of University of Illinois with a Master's in Entomology (study of insects) and University of Connecticut in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. I've been involved in research of how unnamed species are related to one another using DNA sequencing of genes (called systematics) for my undergraduate and graduate career, and hence I am very strong in biology, genetics, microbiology and ecology. My passion in science lies in the implementation of modern DNA sequencing technology to study genes and genomes, especially to advance the field of medicine.I have experience tutoring students through the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Undergraduates program, and I also served for approximately a year as a tutor for Parkland Community College in Champaign, IL, teaching anatomy and physiology, microbiology, general biology, and algebra.I hope to help students with a wide variety of subjects in science and math, especially biology and genetics!

I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Educational Studies from Arizona State University in December 2020, and am currently pursuing my Masters in Montessori Education from Loyola University Maryland, as well as my Association Montessori Internationale diploma from the Southwest Institute of Montessori Studies.I have been working in the field of education in various capacities for the past 10 years. I have been formally tutoring / teaching for the last 4 years, with my most recent experience being an elementary reading specialist at a Montessori school. I can tutor a variety of subjects from math, English, reading, phonics, etc. I personally love tutoring for reading / phonics and math, as these were and continue to remain my favorite subjects when I was in school.During my time as an educator, I have worked with all age groups ranging from toddlers all the way to adolescents and adults, which has allowed me to be very flexible in how and what I teach. I was always the shy student in class who never liked to raise her hand or ask for help in front of everyone. I typically received my tutoring afterschool or with help from my sisters. I am here to empower you to ask those questions and make you feel comfortable asking anything until you feel confident that you understand the subject.Much of my teaching philosophy and tutoring style has been influenced by my own upbringing as a Montessori child, wherein I believe in the importance of individualized and small group instruction, and that it is important for each student to work at their own pace for as long as they need. I enjoy getting to know my students' interests, likes, and dislikes, so that I can be mindful of incorporating these into my tutoring sessions. I like to try and make these sessions as personalized as I possibly can!Outside of work and teaching, I love traveling, photography, and art. I have been fortunate to have had study abroad experiences in Europe, which really ignited my love for traveling and photography. I also love spending time with my family and grabbing coffee from my favorite coffee shop down the street.
