I am completing my Ph.D. in Biblical Exegesis in the Department of History at York University (Toronto, Canada). My academic credentials include a MA in History from York University. I have a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Hebrew and Jewish Studies and a BA in Classics from Tor Vergata University in Rome. In 2009-10, I worked on an MA in Philosophy at the Pontifical Urban University and completed about half of that program when I decided that I wanted to pursue a degree in Biblical Studies and, to that end, enter into a Ph.D. program. I have extensive linguistic and theoretical expertise in the exegesis of biblical texts, in particular prophetic texts. I studied Biblical Hebrew for many years, Akkadian for two years, at the University of Toronto (Canada), and Aramaic. I also have a solid academic background in the history of ancient Israel and the Ancient Near East, combined with an extensive teaching record on the history of the world's religions and Greek and Jewish Literature. Among the learning objectives of my classes are the following: Providing students with an understanding of the key subjects and issues in history or religion. Analyze and discuss significant historical and religious subjects and issues as they relate to the modern world. Students usually come from a wide variety of social backgrounds and have a range of knowledge and skillsets, depending on their prior academic experience. To provide context and discussing particular subjects, I structure tasks in my course to meet students' different growth areas without assuming too much about their knowledge level. To scaffold assignments is an effective way to bring students up to speed who may need assistance acquiring background information and familiarize themselves with methods. I am an educational enthusiast who takes any opportunity to learn something new. Pleased to make your acquaintance! Some details about me: I have just recently graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and am currently waiting to start my Ph.D. program in Physics; I would like to become a professor one day in potentially any subject; and meeting new people is one of my favorite things to do! In college, I worked part-time as a Supplemental Instruction Leader, mastering facilitation, leadership, and social skills to help with the development of study habits and time management for students taking a course on Differential Equations & Laplace Transforms in which I was the only SI Leader for that course and had to help over 650 students. During the 2016-2017 academic year, I was also a Community Adviser, developing a community of about 50 residents, facilitating discussions of appreciating and understanding human differences and diversity, overseeing residents grow in leadership roles, leading an academic initiative program, and undertaking administrative tasks in a residential community. I look forward to interacting with you and helping you through your studies!

Language learning and teaching has always been a great passion for me. I speak 7 languages, and I have been teaching languages for many years. I began teaching Italian in 2010 and German in 2016. It's hard to tell which language I enjoy teaching more, as these are my two favourite languages, and I am equally happy when I can help other people to become proficient in either of them. Besides my degrees and certificates in German and Italian, I also have a PhD in Applied Linguistics. My past education and ongoing research help me to better understand learners' needs and to use the most appropriate teaching methods based on each learner, considering their learning styles, age, personal strengths and difficulties, as well as their linguistic background. Having knowledge of several languages usually allows me to draw parallels between the target language and students' native language(s), which has beneficial effects on learners' metalinguistic awareness, especially when it comes to adult learners.

I am a Stanford student from Maryland studying Political Science and Computer Science. I graduated from high school in 2015, where I was active as the captain of my high school sailing team, a section leader in the orchestra, and part of the STEM magnet program Project Lead the Way. I am currently taking some time off from school to be around family here in Massachusetts and while I will be taking a few classes, I have plenty of time and lots of flexibility. I am excited to work with middle and high school students in math, reading and writing, social studies, and computer science. In addition to taking classes and tutoring this fall I will be volunteering in after school programs with low income middle and elementary school students.

I am also fluent in Italian; and have extensive advanced fluency in French and German. I picked up my language skills while working and traveling to over 65 countries. My extensive linguistics knowledge coupled with my teaching experience allows me to help students struggling with learning Spanish; or writing college essays, term papers, dissertations or articles for publication; or organization skills to improve academic performance. Because of my varied travel experience I find it easy to adjust to students experiences and learning gaps in order to show them how to utilize the knowledge they already have and build on that knowledge in order to attain greater skills.

I am a rising Senior currently studying neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania. Science and particularly the inner workings of the brain have been a passion of mine from a very young age, where I remember candidly telling my mother that I would be a neurosurgeon one day.

I am pursuing a Bachelor of Music in opera performance and a Bachelor of Arts in art history. I've been tutoring music theory and ear training at school for two years, and have taught private voice lessons for a year. I also have experience tutoring writing, French, and Italian.
