As a practicing patent attorney, I use my attention to detail, work ethic, diligence, flexibility and critical thinking skills to help me succeed in legal writing and in the courtroom. However, I have also used these skills successfully in the classroom, and when I have tutored students individually and in a classroom setting in the past. I will always advocate for the potential inside each client, and will ensure they are able to succeed both in the classroom and life.

I am an attorney in Washington, D.C., who serves as a judicial law clerk for the presiding judge of the criminal division at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Prior to clerking, I worked as an associate at a reputable law firm where my practice focused on white collar defense, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigation. During law school, I completed internships at U.S. Department of Justice's U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia's Homicide Section and the Office of International Affairs. Additionally, I worked as a teaching assistant in criminal law, criminal procedure, and advanced criminal procedure courses. Lastly, I gained practical experience by completing over 650 hours of pro bono legal services in his law school's criminal defense and community development clinics. In undergrad, I majored in political science with a minor in psychology.I am excited about the opportunity to assist students in understanding both fundamental and complex legal concepts that play a major role in our day-to-day lives.

I know what it is like to struggle with standardized tests. I had to take the LSAT three times before I got a decent score. However, I made it through law school and passed the bar in the 98th percentile on the first try! I learned a lot along the way and I love to share what I learned.I went on to serve as a Magistrate Judge for 11 years. In that time, I presided over 70,000 cases and filed over 1,800 written decisions. Writing a decision is very similar to answering law school or bar exam essay questions. But what I enjoyed most about being a magistrate is mentoring young attorneys. I hope to continue mentoring through Varsity Tutors.I have experience in training Judges, Magistrates, Attorneys, and students in complicated areas of the law in both collegiate and in professional seminars. I want to use that experience to help you pass law school and the bar exam.I specialize in teaching law students a process that allows them to handle any essay question that comes up on the bar exam. My process is simple, easy to learn, and can be applied to any subject. The process can be taught in a minimum of six hours.I'm looking forward to meeting you and working with you!

I am a licensed attorney in Minnesota currently practicing as an assistant county attorney where I've practiced civil litigation, criminal prosecution, and ethics. Prior to my current role, I was a prosecutor for about four years prosecuting both juvenile and adult criminal matters. I also work as adjunct faculty teaching two courses at a law school. I received my undergraduate degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts with majors in Education and English and a minor in psychology. I attended law school at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Minnesota and graduated in the top half of my class. During my 3rd year of law school, I began a full-time judicial clerkship for a district court judge and then began working as an assistant county attorney upon my admission to the bar. I have been tutoring students for the bar exam for the past few years and absolutely love it. I specialize in tutoring adult learners and repeat bar takers. I passed the bar exam (UBE) on my first try with more points than needed for my jurisdiction. I self-studied for the exam with some assistance of a bar prep program all while being a single parent and working full-time. I can help you manage your time and work on strategies so that you can successfully pass. I will provide a structured study plan, assignments that we can work on together during our session, and homework. The bar exam is difficult but it can be tackled!

I love to learn and try to help others enjoy the learn(ing) as well! In between my academic stints, I served over a dozen years as a U.S Army Officer with over 5 years overseas time between Korea and Iraq. I am available to tutor a variety of subjects, but am most up-to-date with Statistics, Organizational Management, and legal studies/bar exam prep. I earned my Bachelor's of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh in English Writing and Political Science, with a minor in Italian Language and Literature. I earned my Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School, and I am currently practicing law in Massachusetts. Throughout my education, I have had the privilege of assisting friends and family as they worked through challenging academic subjects. I enjoy watching those I am helping grow and succeed as students and as people. My favorite subject has always been writing because I believe it is a fundamental building block to any successful career, both in school and out of school. I love helping people to realize that they have the ability to be a great writer with some practice, and I firmly believe that with the right approach, it's an accessible skill for all learners. Outside of work, I enjoy dancing with a local performance company, reading, knitting, and spending time with my two cats.
