Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I went over a Caesar cipher program solution that his teacher gave him. We walked through the solution step by step, adding in comments so that he can understand it better. After a couple of examples of how structs work and how to get the variables within a struct, the student understood it completely. Afterwards, we simply debugged the code to see how each variable changed step by step. It was a very elegant code, and I mentioned to him that it is good practice not just to comment, but to break down a hard program into small chunks (in order to get such an elegant solution with different methods). Overall, this was a great session."
"We covered pass by reference, static class member, inheritance and protected access specifier. We practiced programs in these concepts. We also reviewed lab assignment 5: debugging."
"This session was partly a subject tutoring session, partly a project working session. I had to work through the basics of class definition code for the student, including scope, compilation, inheritance, and friend methods. He is going to need a bit more work before his test, so we are scheduled to meet on Monday early in the morning."
