The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) Upper Level is a test that students in grades 8-11 may take to enroll in grades 9-12 at a private school. There are two types of questions on the Verbal Reasoning portion: synonyms and sentence completions. The synonym questions provide one word and then four possible choices, among which students are expected to select the one closest in meaning to the first word. The sentence completion questions consist of sentences with blanks that students are expected to fill in using one of the four answers provided.
