Tutoring review by Schuyler in Brea, CA
Today we began with a brief review, and the student seemed to recall everything from yesterday perfectly. I'm very impressed by how quickly he seems to have mastered this material! The first new topic of the day was solving word problems that deal with money and systems of equations. We discussed strategies for figuring out how to translate a given word problem into meaningful equations. This is one of the toughest skills to learn in Algebra 1, but by the end of today he seemed very adept at it! At the end of the session, we also went over graphing inequalities, the next section in his book. We only have one section of Chapter 6 left, so next week we'll tackle that and move on to Exponents (Chapter 7).

Tutoring review by Elena in Brea, CA
We went over what will be on the student's test and practiced the dialogues. He had great improvement since last time we met. He can fluently ask or answer a question with minor accent. I also introduced some conversational expressions about weather/seasons during the second half of the session.

Tutoring review by Chloe in Brea, CA
The student and I went over sight words. She read all the words correctly. She read her book. She read fluently and with very few errors. She read her reading book to me. She read really well, much better than she did on Monday. We went over a comprehension question together. She answered it all by herself and thought really deeply. We wrote her spelling words on each other's back and guessed them. I gave her the rest of the sight words to write. She got 6 wrong. We went over them and tomorrow I'm going to have her practice the words she missed.
