About Me

I recently graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. I enjoy doing and teaching math and love to think of math in real-life terms with lots of different kinds of examples to help as a guide through the abstract. Along with math, I focussed on both Computer Science and Spanish. I gained most of my Spanish literacy through two study abroad experiences in the Dominican Republic and Chile, where I took all my classes and completed all my coursework in Spanish. Since graduating in 2019, I have worked as an Americorps volunteer in a bilingual (Spanish and English) elementary school. Until Covid, I was teaching math and reading to children who were falling behind in normal classroom settings, as well as running an afterschool program. I have worked extensively at summer camps in both New England and the Portland area (Oregon Zoo and Portland Children's Museum). In my free time, I love to read, work in my garden, take care of my fish tanks, and play ultimate frisbee!
