I'm a student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis studying for my BA in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science, and I am expecting to graduate in May 2018. I've been tutoring mathematics in various places since 2015, including Mathnasium: The Math Learning Center in Plymouth, MN.I loved tutoring as soon as I started doing it for the first time, because I love the subject of math and the difference I can make for people in their classes. School can be stressful, so it's a great feeling to help a student overcome a difficult problem or concept. Over the past few years I've learned specific techniques for teaching individual age groups, from K-12 to college students. This is because it's not enough to just know the subject; in order to be a good tutor, you must also know how to teach it. I've striven to continue to gain experience in teaching so I can someday be a professor, so I'm very excited to be a part of Varsity Tutors, a modern solution to teaching.
