I am a recent graduate from Tufts University with a major in International Relations and a minor in Economics. I have been helping students since I was in middle school working with students of all ages from kindergarten to college. Prior to spending four years at Tufts, I attended a boarding school in Massachusetts where I was committed to tutoring middle school students at a local Boys and Girls' Club for all four years. I always enjoyed seeing the energy of younger students who were eager to learn and their visible improvements. I also worked as a teaching assistant for an SAT prep center where I tutored SAT verbal and writing along with SAT II literature and math. I moved to Las Vegas a few months ago after finishing up college, and I would love to get back to working with students on a regular basis because I understand the importance of education and enjoy helping and seeing results. My favorite subject to teach is SAT because with the right help it is a standardized test that can see huge improvements in scores. Writing section is especially my forte because I think that grammar is the basic building block of the English language that deserves a little more attention in school. I feel a great sense of fulfillment when students start to understand the different structures of English sentences and appreciate such knowledge. In my spare time, I like to stay active and go to yoga classes, including antigravity yoga, and drive to national parks for fresh air. I am also a big foodie who enjoys regular trips to different restaurants with friends and an avid movie fan. I look forward to meeting with students here in Las Vegas!

I'm a 2016 graduate of Pepperdine University with my Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Currently I'm preparing to apply to optometry school; I hope to be accepted for the 2018-19 academic year. During my time in college, I was involved as a teaching assistant for General Chemistry I and II laboratory, as a tutor for General Chemistry I, as a member of the Regents Scholar Student Board, and as a "small group" leader through multiple organizations. I am a member of the sorority Pi Beta Phi and held the positions of Historian, Senior Transition Leader, and member of the Leadership and Nominating Committee during my undergraduate years. As far as tutoring goes, I offer my services to students of all ages and in numerous subjects. I particularly enjoy tutoring the STEM subjects. I also thoroughly enjoy working with female STEM students, which allows me to serve as a role model and to offer additional encouragement for my female students to not lose interest in STEM subjects. A large part of my tutoring style focuses on logical thinking for how to tackle new and difficult problems using previous knoledge and educated hypotheses; I have found that my students find both success and a boost in confidence using my methodology. Aside from my academic interests, I love cooking and baking, my cat, photography, and National Parks. Hobbies: reading, cooking, music, baking, art, books, photography, writing

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students in Sunrise Manor with expert tutors across a wide range of subjects and grade levels. Whether your student needs help with core academics, test preparation, or specialized subjects, we match them with tutors who understand their specific learning needs and goals.

Personalized 1-on-1 instruction helps students master Nevada's grade-level standards at their own pace. Tutors work with your student on the specific concepts they're struggling with—whether that's Nevada's math standards, literacy benchmarks, or science competencies—rather than moving at a classroom pace. This targeted approach builds stronger foundational skills and boosts confidence in meeting state expectations.

Students in Sunrise Manor most commonly seek help with math, reading and writing, and science—the core subjects that build skills for future success. We also connect students with tutors for test prep (including Nevada assessments), algebra, geometry, standardized test preparation, and subject-specific support across all grade levels. If your student needs help with a particular subject, we can connect you with an experienced tutor.

The first session is focused on understanding your student's learning style, current challenges, and goals. The tutor will assess where your student stands academically, identify specific areas needing support, and create a personalized plan tailored to their needs. This foundation helps ensure every future session is productive and targeted to your student's success.

You'll start by telling us about your student's needs, grade level, and goals. Varsity Tutors matches your student with a qualified tutor, and you'll schedule sessions that work for your family's schedule. Sessions are personalized to your student's pace and learning style, with tutors adjusting their approach based on progress and feedback.

Absolutely. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction is especially effective for students who are behind because tutors can slow down, reteach concepts, and fill knowledge gaps without the pressure of a classroom environment. Research shows that individualized tutoring helps students catch up faster than classroom instruction alone, building both skills and confidence along the way.

Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students with tutors experienced in preparing for Nevada assessments, standardized tests like the SAT and ACT, AP exams, and other important evaluations. Tutors focus on test-specific strategies, content review, and practice to help students feel confident and perform their best on test day.

Varsity Tutors works with families to find tutoring solutions that fit their budget and schedule. Pricing varies based on the tutor's experience, subject area, and frequency of sessions. We're happy to discuss your needs and help you understand the investment in personalized instruction for your student's academic success.
