About Me

I'm a freshman at Columbia University hoping to study applied physics or applied math, and I have specific interests in applications to earth, oceanic, and atmospheric sciences. Since I started high school, I have tutored numerous friends and peers in almost any subject that they needed help with, and recently, I began tutoring various high school seniors for their college applications. While I can tutor most subjects found in a high school curriculum, I most enjoy working with students on their math skills, whether algebra, calculus, or statistics. I think math is a subject that many students seem to fear, but usually their fear is what holds them back. I feel a sense of fulfillment when I can show a student that math is not as bad as their brain might make it out to be. When I tutor, the most important thing for me is to make sure the student and I are on the same page. I want to relate to the student and make learning more fun. I truly believe that education is a gift, one that is important for us all to cherish. In my free time, I love hiking, running (even though I'm not the best at it), and digging into Wikipedia rabbit holes.
