I am warm, friendly and personable and will help your child feel comfortable in their tutoring environment. I will strive to be the best teacher I can to allow students to grow and learn, that is my ultimate goal.

I am a strong believer that anyone can learn anything! I attended the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate and recently finished my Master's in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As a tutor, I create a space where my learners can feel empowered and safe to take on the sometimes difficult, yet often fulfilling and fun, challenge of learning new things. I practice a growth mindset philosophy, and I often say that it is okay to be wrong, it just means you haven't learned the material... yet. With patience and effective pedagogy, I strive to give my students confidence that they can learn anything they set their mind to. I take my students' desires, motivations, goals, and interests seriously. Fun fact: I am an international student from Malaysia!
I am an undergraduate student at Harvard University! I am studying history and linguistics, and plan to teach English abroad for a few years post-graduation. Though I enjoy tutoring a wide range of subjects, I have the most experience helping students with their writing. I would love to help you improve your writing skills in general, or to look at specific essays or papers. I also enjoy tutoring English/ Language Arts more broadly, including ESL, and math. I do hold a TEFL certificate. I try to keep lessons with students interesting, because I think it's really hard to learn when you don't enjoy what you're learning! I hope to work with you to develop lesson plans that are curated to your goals and interests.
I am a current first-year honors student at Northeastern University pursuing a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in History, Culture, and Law. I am a youth activist and have experience working for campaigns and elected officials and am particularly passionate about mental health, climate change prevention, and LGBTQ+ rights. I have done private tutoring for the past three years with students in Elementary, Middle, and High School in a variety of school subjects including but not limited to Math, History, and Writing/Grammar. I am passionate about education and want to use my skillset and knowledge to help other students achieve their best selves. I'm from Denver, Colorado, and currently live in Boston and love to read, watch sitcoms and, of course, tutor my students.
I'm a current senior at Harvard University earning a double major in Environmental Science and Public Policy and Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality. During my time at Harvard, I've done a wide variety of education-related work. I've taught my own self-designed course on Feminism, Intersectionality, and Queer Theory to high school students in both the US and Vietnam, and I currently design and lead customized inclusivity trainings with Harvard's Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
I am a senior at MIT majoring in Writing with a specialization in Digital Media. I have also completed a minor in Business Management. As one of ten writing majors at a school full of people pursuing science and technology rather than humanities subjects, I have taken a default position as tutor for anyone struggling with any writing assignments. I have helped fellow college students on a wide variety assignments ranging from analytic papers on race in the media, to papers on scientific theories, to scholarship essays. In high school I was a Link Crew tutor for three years, making myself available for tutoring sessions after school for whatever subject students required help in.
I'm a proud graduate of Cornell University (B.A. in Psychology, 2011) and William James College (M.A. in Psychology, 2014). I have founded my own business as a Productivity Coach, specializing in executive functioning and motivation. I also enjoy helping students learn with tutoring! My background means I am well suited to clients with test anxiety, and other psychological factors that interfere with academic potential. I have experience working with clients with ADD/ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I am a certified elementary and ESL teacher committed to my students and their learning. I am passionate about teaching and love finding new ways to help my students.
I am applying to medical school and I'm enrolled at the BU Medical school getting my Master's in Medical Science. As a recent graduate of Princeton University, I have realized the importance of the learning process. Often times the difficulty of the material comes from the unfamiliarity of the approach to it, rather than the inherent difficulty of the material. As a tutor, I hope to help my students realize that they can master the material when they learn the best learning strategies to approaching their various assignments.
I am a graduate of Cornell University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in Music. I hold a Masters of Arts in English from the University of Connecticut, where I am currently working on my PhD in American Literature. I tutor a mix of test preparation, English, Literature, and Writing. In helping students with reading and writing skills, I enjoy using multiple different approaches to develop a well-rounded understanding of the techniques, while making the sessions fun. I'm a strong proponent of keeping studying dynamic. It is important to me that my students come away from our sessions with not only the scores or grades they desire, but a deeper understanding of the topics and skills that will continue to benefit them beyond test day. In my spare time I love long runs, singing, hiking, and reading.
I'm not tutoring, I spend my time writing and performing spoken word poetry, riding my bike around Boston, and learning to cook.
I am a graduate of Harvard University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies with a focus in food policy and law. During my undergraduate studies I spent my time in political organizations and in research, teaching fellowships on political philosophy at Harvard Effective Altruism and serving as a Visiting Researcher in food policy at the University of Cambridge. After graduating, I spent time as a researcher in political science and history and mentored students working towards attending top schools in the US and UK, providing one-on-one help with applications and developing seminars on topics like Sociology and English. Most recently, I have started a non-profit organization in Ecuador focused on educating families about healthy cooking and providing nutritional assistance. At the same time, I am excited to continue pursuing my passion for teaching and helping students navigate subjects like History, English Literature, ESL, Spanish, and Standardized Tests like the ACT, AP, and IB tests. I believe that the knowledge young people receive in primary and secondary education is the ultimate individual enrichment; an essential part of understanding who they are and a key to seeing who they may become. In my spare time, I walk, read history books like Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team of Rivals, and listen to music like Led Zeppelin and Lana del Rey.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students from across Woburn's 11 schools with personalized tutoring support. Whether your student attends a Woburn Public Schools elementary, middle, or high school, we match them with tutors who understand the local curriculum and Massachusetts academic standards.
While Woburn's 12:1 average student-teacher ratio is solid, individual attention in a classroom setting is still limited—teachers manage multiple students with varying needs simultaneously. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction fills that gap by allowing tutors to focus entirely on your student's specific learning style, pace, and academic goals, whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
Tutors working with Woburn students are familiar with Massachusetts frameworks and state standards, including MCAS expectations and grade-level benchmarks. They tailor instruction to align with what Woburn schools teach while identifying and addressing any gaps in understanding that might hold your student back.
Students in Woburn commonly seek support in math, English/language arts, science, and test preparation for MCAS and standardized assessments. We also work with students on study skills, homework support, and preparation for high school and college transitions—helping them build confidence across subjects.
The first session is about getting to know your student—their strengths, challenges, learning style, and academic goals. The tutor will assess where they stand in their current coursework and discuss a personalized plan for how tutoring can help them succeed in their Woburn school.
Tutoring costs vary based on the subject, tutor expertise, and frequency of sessions. Varsity Tutors works with families to find flexible arrangements that fit different budgets—whether that's weekly sessions, intensive prep for a specific goal, or ongoing support throughout the school year.
Tutors working with Woburn students are vetted professionals with expertise in their subject areas—many have teaching backgrounds, advanced degrees, or specialized knowledge in their fields. They're selected not just for expertise, but for their ability to connect with students and adapt their teaching to individual learning needs.
Simply reach out to Varsity Tutors and tell us about your student's needs, grade level, and goals. We'll match them with an experienced tutor who's a good fit, and you can start with an initial session to see if it's the right fit before committing to ongoing support.
