I moved to the United States 30 years ago and have since worked as a Registered Nurse, Spanish Medical Interpreter, Spanish teacher for elementary aged kids in an after school program, and private Spanish tutor for high school students and adults.I enjoy teaching my mother language, Spanish, and I like the interest and effort that students place on learning Spanish. I also hold a Master's in PK-12 Spanish Education and a PK-12 Reading Endorsement from the University of Dayton. I will be Reading Recovery Certified in May 2020 through Wright State University. I am currently pursuing an Administrator's License with the University of Dayton beginning May 2020.I have tutored one-on-one in person for a private tutoring company for 2 years in Spanish. I also tutored students in an urban public school in reading during their school day for a year.I tutor all levels of Spanish, 1-AP and college level as well as elementary reading, preferably kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.

I have personally gone through the struggle that is the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). Originally, I received a 27 on the old MCAT (60th percentile) and after studying on my own for 9 months, I was able to re-take the exam and score a 517 on the new MCAT (96th percentile). I know what it takes to do well on the exam, and I am confident that I can help many other students face this hurdle to becoming a doctor. As a peer tutor for three years in biology, general/organic chemistry, and physics during my college career, I have extensive experiencing helping others through these subjects, and I would love the opportunity to continue to tutor other students. My hobbies include piano, soccer, and art!

I am trained in lesson planning, instruction, assessment, and using assessment data to guide further lessons through City Year, Inc. As a tutor with City Year, I also gained hands-on experience tutoring a diverse group of students in a variety of subjects and supported students in Algebra and Physical Science classrooms. Also at P&G, I worked in developing beauty care products for consumers around the world. My goal as a tutor is to bring insight and a greater breadth of understanding of the sciences to the student (client).
