I am well versed in both subject areas. My student evaluations were always very high, and I focused on making History fun and relevant to things happening today. I try to take history from boring facts to interesting connections that tell a story and explain why events come about.

I am especially good at helping students understand coursework in Politics/Government, World History, or International Affairs. I take a patient and nonjudgmental approach; no one is good at everything, but everyone can improve with practice and guidance. There are usually several ways to teach the same material, and I have a knack for finding the one that works. I enjoy using examples and analogies that help the student "get" and remember complicated concepts.

I am a school librarian with more than 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience! I have taught all ages, pre-school thru college, in Math, Music, English, History, and Foreign Language (French, Spanish, Italian and German). I have experience in both public and private schools and in a variety of curricula: Everyday and Singapore Math, Reading and Writing Workshop among others.
