I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs, with a concentration in Applied Languages, and a minor in Classical Studies, in the Latin language. I was originally a theater major and very much still enjoy the theater and volunteer to help build sets when I can. I changed my major because I wanted a more active role helping people, which has always been my passion.I eventually began volunteering at a church teaching English to speakers of other languages and I loved it so much that I soon became a certified ESL instructor. I love teaching and helping others reach their goals and bettering their lives.I believe that education is vital in today's world. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014 with a B.A. in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology. I moved to Santiago, Chile in July of 2014 to teach English, but I have recently returned home to Cincinnati.I discovered my love of tutoring and teaching while volunteering as a tutor for Cincinnati Public Schools when I was a high school student. I continued to tutor while I was an undergraduate at Wash U working in elementary schools in the St. Louis public school system. After graduating, my love of teaching carried me to South America to teach English in a small class setting and tutor individuals on the side.I strongly believe that no two students are the same and that teachers and tutors must be willing to explore different approaches with different students to maximize student potential.When I am not tutoring, I enjoy skiing, camping, playing basketball and listening to music.

I have always found science to be interesting and a compelling field of study, especially as it relates to the human body and condition. In the past I have tutored college students in Organic Chemistry, which is widely regarded as one of the most difficult premedical requirements. My expertise is in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics as it pertains to premedical and science degrees. I also am well versed in Mathematics at the High School and College level. I try to teach my students not only how to solve problems in a systematic fashion, but also how to use logic and deduction to solve difficult questions which they have not previously seen. I believe that these skills are critical for future scientists and physicians. In my spare time I play guitar in a band, build and work with personal computers, and snowboard.

For as long as I can remember, I've loved learning new things and sharing this knowledge with others. Nothing beats the feeling of demystifying a difficult concept for someone and witnessing their "aha!" moment. Over the course of my academic career, I grew to really enjoy the STEM subjects, and I was always happy to take the time (often quite a bit!) to help my peers when they were having trouble with their homework or didn't understand the way the teacher explained something. These impromptu sit-downs ultimately evolved into formal tutoring sessions, and over the years, I've served as a private tutor for a number of students in math and science.I graduated from Cooper Union with a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering in 2010. Since then, I've been working as a software engineer; this experience has fueled my enthusiasm for tutoring computer science. I'm also passionate about tutoring calculus and physics so that I can help assuage the extreme (and, in my opinion, undeserved) fear that students often have of these subjects. Despite their intimidating reputations, each of these subjects is built on a foundation of only a few simple (and largely intuitive) ideasthe difficulty comes when these concepts are combined and applied in creative ways. Accordingly, my tutoring style is to cut through the complexity by repeatedly breaking things down into smaller and simpler pieces until they are understood.
