I am also fluent in Italian; and have extensive advanced fluency in French and German. I picked up my language skills while working and traveling to over 65 countries. My extensive linguistics knowledge coupled with my teaching experience allows me to help students struggling with learning Spanish; or writing college essays, term papers, dissertations or articles for publication; or organization skills to improve academic performance. Because of my varied travel experience I find it easy to adjust to students experiences and learning gaps in order to show them how to utilize the knowledge they already have and build on that knowledge in order to attain greater skills.

I am currently a third year PhD student at The Ohio State University for physical chemistry. I recently completed my undergraduate education with bachelor's degrees in music and chemistry. I was trained at my undergraduate institution, Hiram College, as a writing tutor, but I have also tutored subjects that I have experience or performed well in, such as chemistry, music, math, and physics. I really enjoy tutoring for the ACT because I like to show students new ways to think of standardized testing and further push them to be successful not only on the test but in school in general. I approach tutoring in a very casual manner; I like to be personable with my students and involve them in a very prominent way. Outside of academia, I am a runner and a musician. I am a rising Senior currently studying neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania. Science and particularly the inner workings of the brain have been a passion of mine from a very young age, where I remember candidly telling my mother that I would be a neurosurgeon one day.

I'm home, I'm likely cooking or watching soccer. If I'm traveling for fun, it will likely be to Europe or South America.

Language learning and teaching has always been a great passion for me. I speak 7 languages, and I have been teaching languages for many years. I began teaching Italian in 2010 and German in 2016. It's hard to tell which language I enjoy teaching more, as these are my two favourite languages, and I am equally happy when I can help other people to become proficient in either of them. Besides my degrees and certificates in German and Italian, I also have a PhD in Applied Linguistics. My past education and ongoing research help me to better understand learners' needs and to use the most appropriate teaching methods based on each learner, considering their learning styles, age, personal strengths and difficulties, as well as their linguistic background. Having knowledge of several languages usually allows me to draw parallels between the target language and students' native language(s), which has beneficial effects on learners' metalinguistic awareness, especially when it comes to adult learners.

I am a Stanford student from Maryland studying Political Science and Computer Science. I graduated from high school in 2015, where I was active as the captain of my high school sailing team, a section leader in the orchestra, and part of the STEM magnet program Project Lead the Way. I am currently taking some time off from school to be around family here in Massachusetts and while I will be taking a few classes, I have plenty of time and lots of flexibility. I am excited to work with middle and high school students in math, reading and writing, social studies, and computer science. In addition to taking classes and tutoring this fall I will be volunteering in after school programs with low income middle and elementary school students.

I'm from Westchester County, New York. I'm a rising sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis. I attended Blind Brook High School. I am planning on double majoring in either philosophy or anthropology, with a second major in computer science. During the school year, I work in the Office of Residential Life and serve on the executive boards of two volunteer clubs. Hobbies: books, writing, reading, music, baking, running, art, travel
