You are also prohibited from composing your response for the first 15 minutes, forcing you to read each document carefully and plan out your essay.

Many students get intimidated by the DBQ because it combines written communication, argumentation, organization, and reading comprehension into a single assignment, but there's no need to fear it. Section II-B
