Went over assignment description in detail. Talked about the requirements and made sure each part was thoroughly understood. Next session, will review instructor's feedback, make necessary changes to the plan for the paper/project, and start work on annotated bibliography.
In this session, the student and I first went over the structure of the online class he would be needing help with. Lastly, we practiced writing outlines for papers, and applied it directly to a short answer question in his online class.
His analysis skills on passages are good.
We used a previous writing assignment to write a new paper. We spent time brainstorming arguments for the topic and developing these arguments. We also started to work on the introduction for the paper and the thesis statement. We will continue working on this paper next week. I also told the student that I will look for writing topics for college freshman writing classes so that we can use them to develop more papers.
